Hey, I'm back again! Yeah, I have to get these things out more often so I can NOT have to do them so often,. That makes sense, right? Right. Let's get to it. I have some wonderful stories this time around.
So, I am not sure if I can sum up in words just how good this story is. I started reading it late last night till early in the morning today, which may have been the greatest idea or the worst idea I have ever done. Not sure which, really. We'll see how the day plays out.
Anyway, this is an alternative universe story where Twilight's life has had some very subtle differences made. I am really, really afraid to say anything about the changes because they are so paramount to the story, so I shall leave you to figure them out. This, unfortunately, makes it hard to entice you all to read this. The writing is amazing, first off. It flows perfectly, and all of his characters are amazingly alternatively characterized. The relationship between Celestia and Twilight is far different than the one in our lovely show.
Anyway, it may seem long (the chapters, I mean), but as you will see at the end of the prelude, there is a reason for them. In fact, I had the author tell me about it. It is interesting.
So, yes, read this story. Do it right now. The Descendant, the parasprite (who is actually a pretty good judge of good stories), and probably someone else important have already read it, so you should too!
Now, I won't butter up this story like I did the previous because it has some rather major errors to it. However, I noticed them and decided to press on because the story itself was pretty interesting, if not a little rushed.
This story follows Trixie and Twilight as they both slowly become more than friends through letters and hanging out after a chance meeting at a spa that leads to Trixie suddenly being reinducted into Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns. First off, how she got into the school was contrived beyond all hell. I am not going to lie. The writing itself is lackluster and filled with grammatical errors. Honestly, I find Trixie's character mischaracterized in this story, yet I also find it rather enjoyable. It is a weird feeling, really. With all of this, I did decided to keep on going, and while nothing truly changes, it is still a fun read.
So, read if you dare.
Now, when I read this story, it wasn't in the feature box, guys. It was just so good that it ended up in there, so don't think I went feature box fishing right before I made this blog. XP
Anyway, this is a one-shot, and so my small review will be smaller. Celestia is troubled by her decision to have Twilight hide away with her power instead of fight. Now, this story is special because it does something that very few Celestia stories can do: give her depth. Really, Celestia doesn't have enough depth in the show, but this story establishes so much in so little. It is subtle, beautiful, and inspiring, really. I definitely recommend reading it.
It has been a while since I actually read this story, so I am going to have to do my best here. XP This is actually the first second generation story that I have been able to read that involves the universe of Kilala. Most of the time, it is pretty terribly written, but this one wasn't at all.
This story follows Golden Delicious and Starburst (I am hungry now) as they both work together around the farm (the Apple's). However, after Delicious puts an asleep Starburst in his house to sleep, they have a little talk. It is really, really cute and flows perfectly. This is the light and fluffy child romance thing that I love. It isn't because I am weird; it is just so cute because I remember when I was kind of like that. It is a really good story, and if you like a little romance (it doesn't actually happen, so you know; they just talk), then this is great for you.
If you don't like TwiDash, you can go ahead and continue on down. XP I won't judge you. But either way, this was a pretty good story, though the errors weren't non-existent either.
This story starts with Twilight freaking out because she has to go on a blind date. In fact, so does Rainbow Dash. They are both set up together, but neither know it. The story revolves around the two being sent on crazy errands that allow them time to think about it. Ends up, though, that they were both thinking about each other anyway. Overall, the story did have a rather decent lead up to the date. However, there are quite a few grammatical errors strewn about, some that are rather detractive. But the story really pulled through in the end, so I recommend this story wholeheartedly.
I can't really say much about this story because it has rather dark humour and is entirely hinged around it. Basically, if you like dark humour, you will like this story. I wish I could say more, but I really can't. XP
Ahh, and something by Regidar appears in my favourites list. I have to say, this story has a solid start, and I am happy that I decided to stay up and read his story when I did. It was so worth it.
The story follows Lyra as she prepares for some big day that voices inside her head are telling her about. Really, that entirely sums up the first chapter. He hasn't even gotten a second chapter out yet, and that is something I am waiting on. The writing was great and flowed easily. There are errors about, don't get me wrong, but the story overall was pretty damn good. I recommend it.
