    Letter of Destiny, advanced concept

Recently, a friend of mine became fascinated with my book series Maledictum Insania and read all of them through pretty quickly. He became particularly curious what my alternative storyline would have been if I had ended up choosing the ending Letter of Destiny from the first book as the base for the rest of the story. Eventually, he got me thinking about this series again which I considered done

    The end is coming

After about 7 years of writing, it is finally happening. The Maledictum Insania series is almost completed.
I am on the last few chapters of the final book. Very soon, this biggest story I have ever written will be concluded.
It is true what they say. You look towards the end of your major projects with both a laughing and a crying eye.

    Obsidian's Theme Songs

What is this? A new blog post! Oh my gosh! Jokes aside, I wasn't planning to make another blog post ever again. But perhaps there is still someone out there who enjoys reading this.

    Guess I finally managed it...

I noticed I am no longer getting comments and hardly any views on new chapters at all. I guess I finally managed to bore all my fans away due to my slow update speed. I am eternally sorry for this. My books never were all that successful to begin with and now I seem to have reached the point where I'm not even writing for anyone but my two pre-readers anymore.

MI Beta, Post 9 · 1:29am May 7th, 2014

Here we go again. Seems like my timing is pretty good. I'm soon about to run out of beta concepts and season 4 is almost done.
I guess once the season is over, I will have to make a few decisions. Like halting Cupcake Factory for the sakes of Maledictum Insania 3: Rebellion Years, or trying to keep both stories running at once with weekly updates. Don't know if I can manage that. Also not sure if I should first finish all beta concepts and then start writing or let MI3 run along with the last few concepts.
Ow well, we will see how I can manage things.

So much for the updates. Let's get to this week's concept.

Death Tokens
These were supposed to be one of the mightiest dark magic artifacts, even though they were supposed to be very difficult and expensive to make. A death token is a small black skull with a chain that can be worn in the mane. When wielded, it granted the ability to avoid death once, but destroys the token in return.

Why was this idea scrapped?
While there are quite some powerful artefacts in the MI series, this one would have been horrendously overpowered. Just imagine like Obsidian Shards in his insane state at the end with his entire mane full of death tokens, as I also once thought about the battle against him should be like. How would you be able to win against such an opponent? Also, death tokens would have ruined several plot points, since you could always have this as an avoid-death-card, resulting in the whole flow and storyline to dramatically change. Everytime a character would have died, especially if it was an important character, one would always wonder "why didn't they use a death token?". The excuse of them being rare, expensive and hard to make just would not have cut it, especially when it came to the lives of main characters. One would like to believe that the keepers of harmony in particular would get protected at all costs, so each one of them would be garunteed to get at least one death token in case of assassination or fatal accident.

I just would have ended up putting a huge rock in my way myself. So for the sakes of the whole plot, I cut out this idea entirely. Death is final and unavoidable, as it should be. Well, with the exception of reapers, but they do not truly die unless reaped or devoured by a demon, as you know.

Alright, that's it. I have to say, I am getting very excited about the idea to finally dive back into my own universe. I have been brewing up this big conclusion since I started writing and I just can't wait to write down what has been haunting me day and night for such a long time. Though I also face this conclusion to my series with bitter sweetness, seeing that there will not be any more books going forward in the storyline anymore. Well, maybe a one-shot at most. But that is entirely up in the air, since it would be completely unneccessary.

What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments as usual. See you next time!

yes! 3 is almost here! *flutteryays* i cant wait x3 and while a one shot might be cool, i think if you were to go back into the universe slightly longer stories giving more depth to some of the side characters you've introduced us into within the MI universe would be fucking amazing <3

As I already said in another post, it is way more likely that I will write about Obsidian Shards' life. If you wish to see the concept, here is a link.
Also, I would like to see a comment on it based on what you think.

2085092 just read the concept, i most certainly approve <3 obsidian was one of my fav characters and i cried quite a bit at the end of Maledictum Insania T.T at least once you finish The Rebellion Years I can look forward to this coming out eventually :D

I agree, those Death Tokens would had made a huge impact of overpowered-ness and heavy plot change in the storyline. :moustache:

Now that I think about it. What would happen if the target is being consumed, by a reaper or demon, holding the token?

Also, Nightmare and/or Malice with countless Death Tokens, it would totally be futile for the mane six to even fight back, unless if there was a way to disable the tokens effects somehow.

Maybe a magic demonic aura from demons that prevents escape for the element wielders, probably may had been an idea. Twilight and the princesses may had been able to cast an aura of their own to counter the demons tokens as well. But the story may had been too focus on the tokens than the story's plot curse.

For priority of books, I would really like it if ya focused on MI3. I'm so looking forward to its conclusion of the overall plot. If you reach a writers block, you could use Cupcake Factory as a method of experimenting or to take a break if ya feel like ya rushing and a way with coming up with ideas for proceeding the story.
