    A Scene (Season Finale Spoilers)

It's entirely possible that I'm an asshole for trying to fit my own story into the excellent Season Finale, but I've spent more time today thinking about it than I have about Real-Time Programming, which is a first for this week.

    Last: The Semi-Hiatus

    Spring is here!
For those of you who have read the latest chapter of Last, you should know my feelings about winter, and the elation I feel knowing it's over.

Spring is a wonderful time for me: I'm not cooped up indoors, I have more energy, I'm able to focus on school work...
...and, experience has taught me, I find myself unable or unwilling to continue writing fanfiction.

    The Dreaded Post

    Dear fans of Last...

...It seems that every author has to make this post at least once, doesn't it?

My flagship story has been on this site for almost one year now. The night I first published it, it received almost instant acclaim, and I was so excited I remember I couldn't sleep that night.

This will be true this summer especially, since I'm taking my university's dreaded Real-Time Programming course. This course requires me to write a kernel, and several applications on top of it, completely from scratch. In total, I'm told I will probably end up writing about 12,000 lines of C and assembly code this term. That's OK, though. I like C and assembly. At least it's not C++.

This course is supposed to really swallow up free time, and I think we all know what that means for a person's story updates.

That's not the only reason, though.

I write to escape. I think most writers do, especially fanfiction writers, ESPECIALLY Human in Equestria fanfiction writers. Spring and Summer are such positive times for me, I have no need to escape! I remember last year, staring at an unfinished chapter every single day, and being unable to complete it because I didn't feel like it.

The only thing that annoys me about going on vacation right now is that the "Three Months of Winter Coolness" arc was almost finished, and it'll be awkward to be finishing that up in late summer/early fall. Also, there's a scene in the final part of "Three Months" which I've had in my mind for a year now, and I was very excited to see what reader reaction was going to be, and now I have to wait.

So there's your announcement: Don't expect any updates for the next Three Months of Summer Hotness. I'm not changing the story's status to "On Hiatus" because I have a decent idea of when I'll be able to write some more.

TL;DR : GO OUTSIDE! IT'S SPRING!
