While presently I am dedicated to working solely on 'My Family and Other Equestrians', every now and then ideas do pop into my mind for future stories. I've had a few ideas for non-HiE stories over the last few months. Since these seem to be somewhat more popular, I've kept a few on file. Most of them though tend to turn out as either clichéd or just not very interesting. But recently I came up with what I believe to be a winner.
The current working title is 'No Surrender'. Here's the intended long summary, tell me what you think:
'The Lunar Rebellion was one of the most bloody periods in the history of Equestria. Thousands lost their lives in battle, whole towns were razed to the ground by the conflict. But in the end, Celestia and her Solar Guard proved victorious and the evil Nightmare Moon was banished; order was restored.
But what of the ponies who fought on the 'wrong' side of that brutal civil war? Many fled their homes and battered nation for pastures new, others were cruelly hunted down by angry mobs, determined to avenge their loss. And what of the fabled Lunar Guard? What became of them the day their ruler was cast out? Well, not all of them surrendered for one thing.
In far off Appleloosa Territory, a small band of guards hold out. Cut off from the rest of Equestria and unaware of what has happened to their beloved leader, they continue their mission. Raid a Solar Guard supply convoy bound for Manehatten. So what happens when they inadvertently 'steal' precious gemstones and find themselves branded as outlaws and renegades? With no government to turn to, they must make up their own minds. Do they keep fighting, or do they go home?'
In the far future, possibly post-Season 5, I may have a go at this as a short fic. What do you think, everypony?

If I may suggest something.
You should submit this to the Idea Exchange, for someone else to have a shot at it.
