Talking to a Potential Publisher On Thursday!

That's right, Thursday I get to talk to a potential new publisher! Damn it I'm excited! I'm going to have pull out some of my better work, bring it up, and show them what I got. This is an exciting time my friends, exciting time!

Aw, thanks! I'm about as excited as I can be, and to be honest I'm still a little nervous. This is a move toward something better, and that's what I want. As for the first time talking to a publisher, take your written work, make sure it's edited, then sum it up in about one page. No more than five paragraphs. On top of that you need to explain what your idea is, why you believe it will sell, and from there the publisher either agrees to publish your book, or you're on your own.

My second novel actually. This one is a space western that I wrote. It was a lot of fun, and to be honest I wrote a little outside of my comfort zone. In the end I think that it ended up being one of my better pieces.

I got to meet with them for a few minutes, but because the student worker that was supposed to show up and take over for me decided not to show I only had a few minutes to talk with them. Luckily they still want to talk to me, which is amazing, and they want me to come up to meet with them during my vacation. So, that's going to be all kinds of fun. I'm just glad that I impressed them enough with the short time I was able to meet with them to warrant another meeting.
