It's been a while, but in honor of the airing of my new favorite Spike episode of the entire series, Past, Present, and Future has been updated.
Saying it's my favorite episode isn't really saying much. My previous favorite episode was Power Ponies, and that was almost more ensemble than straight Spike episode. The rest of the Spike episodes I... simply don't like. I feel like even the writers have difficulty figuring out interesting things for him to do because there's just so little to him. I mentioned early on in "Past, Present, and Future" that Spike's only interests are Rarity, serving, and gemstones, and I wasn't making that up out of nowhere or making fun of other fanfics, that is basically all there is to him in canon. This new episode is no different, but at least it presents a more interesting problem for him to face than the usual.
