When you don't want to write?

What do you do when writing becomes a chore? What happens if you've spent 8+ years writing and then, all of a sudden, the desire is gone? What do you do when someone suggests that you should write and your groan because you feel like you're about to go wash dishes?

    Now taking Commissions!

With this journal and the posting of my latest story, I am happy to announce that commissions are finally open to the public! I hope to make enough money from this to help support myself and my dad while having enough left over to afford a few gifts for friends and save up for a good computer, all the while writing you a story you’ll love! As to how that will work, commissions begin at 5000 words

I'm going to delete Pinkie Dinky Pie, I swear...

Okay, everyone, I'm getting sick and tired of this. I write a padded pony story for a friend using their character, and what do I get? A few comments and notes complaining that I didn't use one of the mane 6 AND asking for more Dinky Pie.

    Self Confidence issues

I'm doing a lot more writing lately. I've got some stories just waiting for coverart all lined of to be posted. And, yes, more of the padded pony variety. sorry Celestia's Daughter fans... I just don't know if I have it in me to continue it. I'm still trying to muster up the energy, but it wanes everytime I try.

Now taking Commissions! · 12:19am Apr 19th, 2014

With this journal and the posting of my latest story, I am happy to announce that commissions are finally open to the public! I hope to make enough money from this to help support myself and my dad while having enough left over to afford a few gifts for friends and save up for a good computer, all the while writing you a story you’ll love! As to how that will work, commissions begin at 5000 words for $50, paid in advance. If the story is shorter than that, you will be refunded the difference. Now, you might think this is a steep price, but in reality I’m making very little money for the time spent. To demonstrate this, I’ll provide a price breakdown:

5000 words = $50
1 word = $0.01
My average words per hour is 250
Therefore, for every hour I write, I make roughly $2.50
Minimum wage is $7.50
In essence, I write for a third of minimum wage. Meanwhile, freelance journalists will charge upwards of $150 for less than half of that!

Now, you might be wondering why I have a minimum upfront cost of $50 for 5000 words. Simply put, I want to ensure I have enough space to write you a quality story that we can all be satisfied with; nobody likes a rushed piece of work that feels like it should be twice as long as it is, after all! Again, I will fully refund any number of words that are not used.

While that may seem like a large amount, some story ideas can demand more yet. As such, understand that if I say a story should be simplified that I am not insulting your idea, just trying to keep the focus on the core plot to avoid the story’s elements being spread thin; two characters will get a lot more done than six, after all. At four-thousand words, if I do not think I can finish the story neatly in the remaining space, I will offer you the choice of a fast ending, with any words beyond five-thousand being free, or an extension of another five-thousand words for $40 (with any additional extensions after that being $40, and the refund policy being in place for that as well).

Despite this being a commission and the story stemming from your ideas as opposed to my own, I treat everything I write with the utmost care and strive for excellence, no matter the subject matter. When I write your story, I’m not just mashing the keyboard to fill some checklist of your demands; I aim to make a logical progression of plot elements so that way when you read it, you believe it. No matter what, I’ll write to the best of my ability to ensure you’re enraptured until the very last letter.

For now, I’m only taking three commissions at a time. I won’t take any more until all three are done, so it’s first come, first serve.

As to what I’ll write, I’m afraid I won’t do any commissions involving:
Soft or hardcore vore (plushie vore is okay, though)
Hyper
Excessive scat or watersports
Gore: While I’m willing to write about it don’t expect gratuitous amounts of detail
Sex: This is grey area for me since I’m not confident in my ability to properly write about characters “going at it”. I do, however, greatly enjoy the teasing foreplay between lovers to demonstrate their intimate relationship (AKA “Smexy times”) and am experienced in making that.
Please note that this list isn’t exhaustive and there may be other fetishes I can’t/won’t write, so please feel free to ask abou them.

My specialties include:
Diaper Lover and Adult Baby: The fetish I’m best known for, these stories are perfect for those looking for some blushing and a lot of d’aww material.
Inflation: While these will be more about spectacle than plot, if you’re interested in something like Luna growing into a second moon this will be certainly do the trick (do note that bloody popping will be toned down, as per the gore rules).
Chubby/Weight Gain: I like characters getting their food on, although I’m not particularly fond of morbidly obese cases (in this case, blobs that are indistinguishable for a living creature or way too many rolls. Sweat and slobby traits will be toned down to my liking). I especially enjoy it with a romantic angle, such as Bonbon introducing Lyra to her special talent with all the candy she can eat.
Slime: Simply put, the character(s) get messy. Sticky, slimy, slippery, and many other words beginning with “s”. If you enjoy goo, this is for you!
Slice of Life: Simple stories that are simply fun. If you want something to read while relaxing and a few chuckles, this is for you.

Since this is a site for ponies, that's what I'll mostly be doing. I also have a Fur affinity Account, and other things are available. Please talk with me for more details.

If you’re interested in commissioning a story or asking questions that you may have that weren’t covered in this, please feel free to comment here or send me a private with the topic ‘Story Commission/Question’ and I’ll do my best to accommodate you. Thank you for your time and interest!

Current queue:

1: A story involving The Great and Powerful Trixie fattening up something fierce.

2: A rewrite of Magic Duel and on, Trixie makes Twilight a foal to parade around the town. Expect diapers, inflation, cartoony fattening, transformation, and what we describe as 'a cushy doom'. I imagine this won't get posted on FIMfiction.

Hey all, I’m TheBackup, one of Conflicted’s friends and his editor-in-chief. I make sure the little flubs he puts in during one of his writing binges at 4 A.M. in the morning doesn’t find its way into the final draft for you to stumble over. However, my current involvement with his commissions is only to ensure grammatical correctness, a service which I provide for free. However, if you want your story made all pretty and suchlike, I can go the extra mile and perform a large-scale overhaul of it (upon receival of monetary compensation, of course). My going price is currently $5 per thousand words, paid in advance and in full for the entire story’s length (I do ever so hate to leave things half-done). This price may rise in the future, so if you want in, now’s the time!

If you wish to get a feel for my writing style, feel free to check out these stories of mine (provided at absolutely no cost to you, what a bargain!).

I may also take other writer’s stories for editing, but I reserve the right to deny any work, including Conflicted’s should its subject matter not agree with my personal tastes.
