Well, it's almost done. Over a year since I attempted NaNoWriMo in 2012, I'll finally finish this story in the next chapter.
I'll freely admit I've made mistakes. There's the whole Colthulhu Mythos business that finally culminated in Chekov's Abomination finally being summoned. (I'm sure you know the adage: The cosmic horror mentioned in Act I has to eat the cast in Act III.) I had only the vaguest notion of plot: just the following list.
* Scottish ponies
* One wants to be laird by way of single combat
* He gets a lesson
And that was pretty much it. A muddled mess of Highlander, Celtic cultures, and the next thing I know there's blimmin' tentacles lolling out of it.
Right now, the residents of Ponyville are in a very bad way. Blood's been spilled. They've faced down a cosmic horror that normally the Princesses have managed to keep away. Luna's going to be very busy tending to Ponyville's nightmares for months at least.
Later though... there is the story of Mucmarfóir yet to tell. That pony has a long and difficult road to travel once he returns to the Shetlands.
