50 Followers?!?!

WHAT?! How did my sub-par story get me 50 followers?!

I remember the day after I posted the prologue, I was surprised to have 4 followers. I honestly thought it was gonna suck. I so do not deserve this for one story.

Anyway, I wouldn't have made it here without my 'family': Surry, Bassie, twidashforever, and Bassline and Melody. Without them, the story would still be on hiatus, or possibly never written at all. Not to mention they gave me emotional support when I needed it most.

Rainbow Dash, with great caution and care, opened the door to the library as quietly as she could manage.

It was the late afternoon, on a Tuesday, and the sun had been rearing itself over some yonder hill for about the past hour, blanketing Ponyville in a dull, vermilion glow. The weather was silent enough, and the town was primarily vacant now, save for a few stragglers on their way home for the end of the day. It was almost too perfect for what she was planning. Twilight had taken great care in setting up this little date, even going so far as to ask Spike to run an errand for her to Canterlot. Although, by peering into the library, it was clear that Twilight herself was not yet back.

"T-twilight?" she called out; there came no immediate response. "Are you in here?"

She shut the door behind her and locked it, as per Twilight's request, then proceeded to wander inside. A vast amalgam of ancient and modern tomes surrounded her on all sides, perfectly neat and straight, nothing out of the ordinary. Her footsteps were unusually loud upon the wooden floor, creaking obnoxiously despite her careful footing.

"Typical," she noted in admonishment, still trying to stay quiet.

It was not yet dark in the grandest parts of her marefriend's home, though quite dim nonetheless. Rainbow made her way over to a desk and found a candle sitting on its side, something that struck her as quite peculiar.

"Why is that—woah!"

Clank!

The brass base rolled over the side; her clumsiness had gotten the best of her. She quickly bent down and scooped up the candle, placing it back, upright, on the desk. A swift glance over her shoulder told her that no one had heard the commotion, yet it had still spooked her.

"No one heard that... right?" she asked herself.

She pulled out the drawer underneath, becoming quite perturbed when she didn't find what she was looking for.

"Of course," she noted in defeat. "You're in a place that a princess and dragon call home, Rainbow. Why would they ever need matches?"
