In Light of My Absence · 10:47am Apr 8th, 2014
Some of you (or the 56 of you who follow me) may have noticed the lack of updates as of late.
Well, it's a long story that I'm really not keen on telling you about so I will simply say this. I have been absent from my writing because of my mental state and yet, while it has improved drastically these last few weeks and especially today. I still feel the need to just let my emotions settle and my mind to relax a little as I enter the start of the glorious two week break known as the Easter Holidays.
Let's just say that my best girl friend left the school and I started getting really depressed and found myself in a really bad place for awhile. But after more counselling sessions than I would like to admit I have found myself feeling much better and well....ready to begin writing again.
So after many attempts at writing short stories I began to feel agitated and without inspiration or the need to move forward. But then some truly amazing happened. And that brings us to today in which I had no idea was even coming. A long time ago I submitted a short story into my school's competition that was only open to senior school thinking..."Why not? I've got just as a good chance as anyone."
So I entered and I waited...and waited...and waited until they finally announced the winners. 3rd Place when to a year 11 girl, 2nd Place when to a year 12 boy and by this point I was thinking: "There's no way I'm going to win." But then, in that split second, my name was called and went up to collect my prize. I was in utter disbelief. I just could not believe that I had actually won.
My prize, well....a forty dollar gift card to a rather popular video games store. I guess I could buy myself a birthday present there. So, today I guess I realised that what people have been saying about me is true. I am as talented and as a good a writer as you all say I am. I guess I just needed a chance to prove to myself the same thing.
Now, about Mythical Diadem....
I should probably have a new chapter soon but I guess I've been saying that an awful lot lately. Oh! And if you wanted to read the short story, I could probably turn into a ponyfic or just post it on my page. I'll see.
Your proud and accomplished writer,
Crystal Secret
Congratulations!!! I'm proud of you!! $40 towards a ps4!!! Get it! Kingdom Hearts 3? Why not?
Glad to hear that you're back. I've been in that state of mind as well, but I'm starting to back into the groove I think. But again, really glad to see you have returned fellow accomplished writer.
Congratulations on the win! That's fantastic. And you're definitely right to let your emotions settle before continuing writing. We can wait.
