Last new story for a while · 9:01pm Mar 26th, 2014
Before I begin, this blog will be discussing, linking and promoting a mature story. Those not of appropriate age should click back now.
And before you say that I can't be doing this, that I can't link NSFW material anymore, the rules for blog posts say that I can.
Do not link to any illegal content. Do not make blog posts specifically attacking other people. Other than that, please try to be civil with your posts and respect people's desires to not see spoilers right after episodes air! Do not post NSFW content. Linking to on-site Mature stories in blogs is only permitted in blog posts that have a mature story tagged.
I've tagged an appropriate story, and have given fair warning, so it's all above board now.
Welcome, one and all to what is going to be my last new story for the next while.
No, I'm not leaving the fandom, or giving up on writing. It's more just that now I'm going to get my other unfinished stories done.
If you have ever wondered about how a non magical Equestria would work, or how teams such as the Wonderbolts, or Trixie's magic act would work in a universe that doesn't have pegasi or unicorns, then look no further.
If you are just a fan of my clop writing, and enjoy overly long and over the top depictions of sex, then this is your story.
If you want a clopfic that also pretends to include character development beyond two random ponies getting it on, then you have come to the right place.
An Unexpected Romance continues the growing universe that started with A Summer Day on the Farm, this time focusing on the showmare that everyone loves, or loves to hate, Trixie. And she's being paired in only the crackest of ships, getting to spend the night sheltering from the rain with Equestria's top fashion model, Fleur-De-Lis.
While she's there, Trixie finds out that not all is as it seems in the De-Lis home, and that her marriage to Fancy Pants may not be all it's made out to be.
When, after a liberal amount of wine, Fleur makes a proposal to Trixie, there is nothing the travelling magician can do but say yes.
So sit back, relax and enjoy a tale of lust, betrayal, and eggs. Mustn't forget about the eggs.
Is the ending going to be as much of a let down as a summer day on the farm was?
Dammit Fimby, I'm trying to empty my read later list!
1957505 Ouch man, that was cold.
1957505 That's a highly subjective question. I know there are plenty of people who liked and a couple who loved that ending. If you want a real answer, then I'm going to need more information about what it is that you felt let down about.

I liked the setup of that story a great deal. It kept up a good pacing and felt, for the most part, real. However, it ended when —to my idea— the setup had just finished, leaving it feeling lackluster and never really getting off the ground.
2248539 how does it confuse you?
There are two main points here: one is plugging the story I had just about finished working on, while two was to indicate that I could be taking a shortish break from posting new material to focus on getting my idling stories back up to speed.
Or are you asking more about the setting of the linked story?
2250501 It's the third entry into the universe. I'd recommend starting at the beginning with A Summer day on the Farm as that one really establishes much of the world building elements.
Everyone is human, meaning that there is no true magic, so things have to change a little bit to accommodate that fact: The Wonderbolt's are a track and field team, Trixie is a street magic performer, etc, but most of the things are similar. Twilight is still Princess Celestia's student, Applejack and Big mac run an apple orchard.
