Too Soon or Just Not At All?

I was talking with another user on here and they were talking about making a HiE fic with that Malaysian Airlines flight. Basically the plane went through a portal or something and ended up in Equestria, which is why there's no debris. He said he didn't know where the plot would go from there. I was against it, but I want to know what you guys think. Too Soon or Just Not At All?

A story topic without plot and politically sensitive subjects is a no go, especially this close to the incident. Even now, you still don't see any 9/11 fics or Nanking fics. It's a no go from me.

It's never too soon, but this is still kinda messed up. Maybe make a story using a similar premis but not about THIS flight. If you do write it PUT A WARNING saying that it is not the missing flight. I hope I don't upset anyone with this.
