So I have vowed not to start anything new until I finish some of the old, but when I'm dead in the water with writer's block because I'm too tired and unfocused to write, that doesn't stop the story ideas from coming. I figure I'll write them down, and swing around to them maybe later after I get one or two of the unfinished off my plate.
- The Day Everypony Was Somebody Else: Parody of the frequent trope of "Discord used to be an alicorn", and also the Five Score stuff and other things where male humans suddenly find that they are really female ponies or vice versa. In which Discord is the only one who didn't really used to be someone else. Or did he? Features Celestia as a human woman named Betty, Luna as a LUMBERJACK, Twilight as some brony named Bob, Pinkie Pie as Dr. Doofenshmirtz' old best friend Balloony, and so forth.
- the Madeleine L'Engle crossover: In which a male alicorn and a human WHO ARE NOT OCs YAY come to warn Celestia that something like IT will attempt to take over Equestria with harmony and friendship. (Gaudior and Charles Wallace, for those of you who have read the series. Gaudior is, in fact, a male alicorn, at least based on the cover art.) I have to re-read the books to pull this one off.
- untitled Prisoner fusion: "Who is Number One?" "You are Number Six." "I am Princess Luna of Equestria! I AM NOT A NUMBER!" One of my few ideas that does not feature Discord in a starring role.
- Repent, Harlequin, Said The Tick-Tock Mare: fusion with the Harlan Ellison story. Twilight Sparkle vs. Pinkie Pie. Order vs. Chaos. Order's winning. This is not a good thing. Discord's not in a starring role in this one either, because Pinkie Pie can't be the heroine if she has Discord for backup.
- untitled X-Men crossover in which Discord gets transformed into a baby by the Elements instead of being turned to stone, and flees to the Marvel Universe to go make best pals with baby Magneto (Magneto getting turned into a baby at one point is comic book canon.) Two adorable baby supervillains! What could go wrong? Aside from everything?
- extensions of "Ice" that involve Twilight, Discord and Spike escaping Antarctica, only to end up someplace else on Earth, where not only do they not speak the language but the humans won't even recognize that they are speaking a language
- something I haven't worked out the details of yet that involve Scootaloo being the first pegasus on the Baltimare Roller Derby team, because human women on roller skates playing a violent sport with each other is actually a thing here in Baltimore
- some kind of sequel to the absolutely adorable "Friends Forever #2" comic in which Discord "helps" the Cutie Mark Crusaders to find their talents
- an insurance agent and her best buddy get tapped by their boss to befriend, and follow around, Discord
- really really tempted to jump in on this whole LoHAV thing because it's fun to be bad
I really love these ideas. Can't wait to see more!
Boy, do I sympathize with you there. If you look at my list of "unfinished" stories you'll see that I have the same problem -- I get new ideas faster than I can finish the old ones!
I DONT GET IT!???
you say you want to finish what you began ???
:((
when do you finally write again at elements of opposition
i REALLY REALLY want to know FINALLY what happend next after the hole "discord in another univesre, experienced the most terriblest things, write this letter, spoke with spike bla bla blaaa" thing :(

You do know I just updated it and it's up to 4 chapters and 53 thousand words, right?
My favorite ideas! But what is LoHAV?

League of Humans Acting Villainously. It's a group that's become weirdly popular lately with this concept that some ordinary human doing cosplay as a villain ends up in Equestria in the form of, and with the powers of, that villain, at which point misunderstandings and friendship cannons ensue. Some of them genuinely turn out to be villains, others are just misunderstood.
I normally dislike HiE fics, but these are actually kinda fun.

Ah, I see. Well, going that route I'd prefer introducing the actual villains. I have a couple I wouldn't mind introducing, maybe. Just in general I think I prefer crossover humans, because they tend to be more interesting if I already like them and know them and the writer does too.
Beyond that, HiE is only good for filling a niche and those are doable but kind of rare. I'm assuming the LoHAV works mostly because actual villains are also fairly rare in Equestria.
