For Those Who Didn't Get It- 'View' · 1:25pm Feb 26th, 2014
Well, it seems to me that almost no one who has read my latest fic ('View') actually understood what was going on.
So, for those of you who were super confused, this is so you can understand:
The story is told by Spike, as a ghost, living his days inside a tomb. Instead of a familial tomb, the mane six have been buried together.
Twilight is still alive (classic alicorn immortality issues), and visits the tomb everyday to bring flowers, read aloud, and talk about her life.
There is a small hole in the front of the tomb. Through this hole, Spike can only see Twilight's library. But he has no memory of it, or anything for that matter.
That is why he only knows the color black. What color do we wear to funerals, everyone?
Black!
One day, Twilight doesn't show up. She doesn't come the next day, either. On the third day, Cadence visits. Cadence explains that Luna and Celestia are dead, and that Twilight had to take over the throne.
The next day, Cadence brings Shining Armor along. He says that he is worried about his sister, that there is a lot of pressure on her and that if the 'spirits' of the mane six could help her in some way, it would be greatly appreciated.
That's when the 'boxes' start talking (which are really coffins!). Shining Armor has woken the spirits of the mane six, and the are trying to rally Spike and get him to help Twilight, but Spike doesn't understand.
The longer he goes not understanding, the larger the hole in the floor gets. Until Twilight finally dies, and Spike is swallowed up.
While in the hole, the wall of the tomb is knocked down, and ponies bring in eight additional coffins (the four princesses, shining armor, and the CMC)
The hole releases Spike when the tomb is sealed again.
The new coffins start talking to Spike, telling him what he looks like and what his name is.
Celestia tells him to go to sleep.
Spike wakes up in the hole in the ground.
"The hole opened up.
I crawled out.
There were three and three boxes.
I do not like the boxes.
The make me have nightmares.
But I never remember the nightmares.
So I guess it is okay."
Three and three. That's six. Twilight is now dead.
Okay, was that helpful? Please comment below.
I never read it...so I wouldn't get it regardless....
Damn, I knew it was something intense, but now?
All I can say is that you are an artist.

Aw, stop it.
I kinda guessed the coffin, the tomb, and the "Spike is dead" part, but it was still rather difficult to wrap my head around all of it...
Not that I think intentional vagueness is a bad thing. Far from it, and the narrative that went along with it is absolutely sublime. In other words: well played!

Thank you!
The story was great. I had guessed it had something to do with death, but I hadn't realized it was actually a tomb.
I hope it gets more views. You really deserve them.

That cleared allot up. Thank you.

Sure thing.
That's an amazing story concept.
I thought it was a human looking down on the town.
