Yes, sorry, I'm not going to host them here. I guess I could, but I'd prefer not to, because they are mega, mega LONG, and I hate taking up space!
So here goes. The central thesis of all of these is that Rainbow Rocks is going to have canon ships for all of the Mane Six. The shippy hints throughout Season 4, both of the type that are likely to become canon and those that are not, are meant to get the fanbase used to the idea.
This seemingly whackdoodle theory was posted before Rainbow Rocks was even confirmed to be a thing.

The Prof on Shipping: Pony Canon Shipping? This one tracks through Season Four up to Simple Ways, and the increasing shippiness of the season.
The Prof on Shipping: Pony Fanon Shipping. Despite its title, this one assesses the likelihood of ships that will or might go canon, and contains a sidebar of stuff I do and don't like. The list of stuff I personally ship or can be persuaded to ship is very, very small, but hey, so is my judgement on you and what you want to ship. As they say on FanFictionNet, dunt liek, dunt reed.

I definitely hardcore hold the head canon that she is Cheese's Muse. As in, he genuinely views her that way, whether it's romantic or platonic. No exceptions, he holds her in that kind of high admiration and he will always be inspired by her, especially if they keep in touch at all after Pinkie Pride.
I'm sad that you don't like Discord ships, but I can certainly see why. I can't help it though. I'm an unabashed Discord fangirl.
I think the reason everyone ships CheesePie is because the writer for that episode knew how to write about love. Genuine love. It isn't made clear what kind of love it is, but no one will tell me that he doesn't love her and I think that Pinkie could so easily love him back. If nothing else, it's clear they'd make fantastic friends and even if they argue, they proved that they can surmount that. So all in all, it's got every reason for people who don't normally ship to love it.

1902241 I just think Discord's got a big job to do just to figure out how friendship works! Plus, he's a multiple thousands of years old semi-deity, so there's that, too. I was very seriously annoyed about the way he broke Pinkie back in Return of Harmony ("aww, pooooor Pinkie Pie. And I thought laughter made you happy" creeps me right out), but if she's gotten past it, so can I. And I think he is quite seriously fond of Shutterflutter or whatever her name is.
Pinkie's thrilled to be anypony's BFF, and I think she was very disappointed when the new pony didn't apparently want to be hers. They're good there. As you've already seen, I've figured out a way to make sure they do at least stay in touch, but you don't need that--if someone says to Pinkie, "ok, we'll have to talk again soon," then yaaay, it's soon. It's the next bit that's tricky to negotiate. Well, that, and the tendency to upstage and photobomb.
Cheese in upcoming EG is guessing on my part, but since they've already announced an Equestria Girls 3, at least in book form, we are very possibly looking at a cameo, I fervently hope. And if not, well, that's what fanfic is for.

Well, yeah, Discord has a long way to go. I usually set anything at least a year or more later. There's really no way to do anything realistic sooner. Frankly he might take a pony lifetime to really understand. He's very smart, but he's fighting an uphill battle against his very nature. Luckily chaos is all about change. And disharmony can happen even amongst friends and lovers. And well, Discord does the unlikely and the implausible. Not that that's an excuse. He just is.
I think getting Cheese Sandwich to settle down is the hard part. Or for him to just recognize what could be and then to know how to handle it. He could have commitment issues, depending on what his family was like. Pinkie could have that same problem, although I don't think she's oblivious so much as she chooses to live in a more exciting reality than reality actually is. She may not recognize the difference when it's there or she may be nervous herself and not be sure she wants to go down that road. Then again, she's pretty forward, but this is territory she's never been down, as far as we know. But yeah.
I'm sure you're correct. He'll probably have a cameo at least. Probably not a speaking part.
Btw I wrote a crap ton of words today that may or may not be accurate. I wrote 'em before reading your fics there. But I still think I'm about right at least.
Everyone has his or her own different take on characters, but my quickie CheesePie is that they're really young, and I don't mean chronologically. He's pretty sure about how things are on his end, but he really doesn't want to go there in case it all busts like one of Pinkie's balloons. As for her, well, I think she gets everything she needs to know on a really basic non-verbal level. She hears what he doesn't say. In fact, she's getting a sort of Cheese Sandwich signal more or less 24/7, like a radar blip. What the heck, they're magical ponies, and I let them go ahead and have some characteristics people wouldn't have, including some truly strange things that don't even make sense to other ponies.
Oh, blah, blah, sorry, but I will drop this in, since you're read "Bombed in Seaddle." Something I didn't realize until later was that playing the accordion was Cheese's version of calling her and muttering "c'mon, Pinkie, please, please pick up." "La Vie En Rose" even has her name in the title.
(EDIT, sorry-- also, he is so far gone that it is a pleasure just to stand next to her and inhale. He has it that bad.)

Hmm--yes, that post is so relatively old, and I've been on LJ so little lately, that half the links are broken!
I think that given the fact that they're aging extremely slowly in the show, Sparity is very unlikely to happen in the show. They're also unlikely to Joss it, though, and this, in my view, is too bad. I don't like to think of Rarity sitting around on the show waiting for Spike to theoretically grow up, maybe. Dangit, the girl should have ONE GOOD DATE. Someone to show up with flowers or SOMETHING. Because she is the only one of the Mane Six who even cares about this stuff. Poor Rarity.
The relationship between Spike and Rarity has been evolving on the show, but evolving into what isn't clear. They're becoming something closer to equals and friends, and even BFFs, which on this show is actually worth something.
Still, I can't help but feel that the writers nailed something when they made EG Spike a puppy. And a pretty awesome puppy, at that.
