State of the Prose: Feb. 2014 · 12:00am Feb 8th, 2014
Well, quite a bit has changed. I'm now an admin of The Writer's Group, my last semester ended poorly, and as of last week I quit my job to go full-time student for the last year of my bachelor's. The first week of classes ended yesterday. Stressful kinda begins to describe it, but many things are changing for me. More than a few for the better.
On the pony front I've been falling behind on watching the latest episodes, and (beyond the above) the reason has settled in: I'm drifting away from the show and fandom. Long story short, neither are what they once were for me. On top of that, I'm getting some rather compelling ideas for short stories and novels, and at the very least I have enough confidence in my skills (and a bit of outside motivation) to try my hand at becoming a novelist. I honestly thank everyone who has helped, followed, faved, and commented, but honestly, what am I getting out of writing pony fanfiction? Why am I looking for attention in an oversaturated market when I could be turning some excellent ideas into original works? Salable assets, no less. Even fifty dollars a month would be more than my currently nonexistent income. Paper is cheap and I've got time, so what is there to lose?
Heady stuff, y'all.
Here are the changes I've settled on at present:
Changelings Change Everything is now marked 'Complete' as a one-shot. Both subsequent chapters and sequel have been indefinitely postponed. It saddens me to stop in the middle, but it should function well enough on its own.
My two megaprojects, Scootaloo the Vampire Slayer and [working title] Griffica on Earth, have also been indefinitely postponed.
I still have over a dozen other ponyfic ideas scribbled down even though none of them really light me up anymore. If that doesn't change it's entirely possible I will donate them to friends or post them for adoption.
That's really about it. I'll still be around, for sure, but everything else is up in the air. Please do check out my editor/editee AdrianVesper's excellent work if you're itching for some epic storytelling.
Until next time (whenever that may be), take care!
I wish you luck in your endeavours, mah Brose.
A wee bit sad to see you go, but I wish you luck out there. When you get published, you will come back and let us know right?

Of course! And in the meantime I'll still be around TWG and such.
