Well, I'm doing a bit better now. · 10:50pm Feb 4th, 2014
I had some outpatient surgery, I've recovered from it pretty well by now, but it's completely thrown me off my intended schedule. To recap, in the last two months I've spend a third of January at a charity event (which was awesome), been in the hospital five times, and had outpatient surgery twice.
The doctor's appointment that was supposed to tell me why these kidney stones keep forming and getting stuck got re-purposed to be a post-surgery followup appointment. The doctor had to run to surgery right after, so we wound up not actually talking about why this is happening, so now I have to wait a month until the next appointment to find out and hope it doesn't happen again.
As you might guess, I'm not entirely pleased about this development and it's been distracting me a little bit. To add on top of that, I lost about a thousand words of writing when Google Docs got stuck trying to reconnect and I didn't notice. So, while I'm doing better, I haven't been making much progress with the writing of words recently.
I'll try to get back on the saddle, but that might involve writing one of my silly side projects that I haven't been putting attention towards just to get myself in order again.

Damn. Well, sorry, to hear that. Hopefully whatever is causing the kidney stones was addressed and you won't have to deal with it much longer. Regardless, feel free to take as long as you need. We'll all still be here when everything's under control.
Oh my... I hope you get better soon and that it stops happening. Especially if you need more surgery. My father had bowel obstructions that ended up causing 'death by repeated surgery' so I know a little how serious this is if it isn't fixed soon (assuming that this is a somewhat invasive surgery). And if not, this is still terrible. I will keep you in my prayers good sir.
You drink tap water? Get a water filter.
My old man had kidney stones a lot. The tap water was partially to blame.
1797662 There are a lot of different reasons for kidney stones to occur, right now I'm hedging my bets and just playing it safe.
1796793 Thankfully I haven't had to have any of that kind of surgery yet, just outpatient and non-invasive procedures.
1798129 Thank goodness. I still wish you the best all the same. Kidney stone's are most certainly not fun. To make it slightly less not fun, here is something from Pinkie.
