First of all, hey, 100 blog posts! That's 100 posts of me inflating my own ego and/or felating myself over how awesome I am. So, uh, hooray? Let us celebrate with one of the best songs ever recorded. Coincidentally, I may have listened to that song for an hour straight last night just imagining epic pony battles for use in future chapters. IF ONLY I COULD ANIMATE.
Anyway, it's been about four days since I posted the first chapter of Just Before the Dawn, and I gotta say, the reception has been overwhelming positive. Just to give you some idea, the current stats for JBtD are:

-206 likes
-15 dislikes
-342 (!) favorites
And that's just for one chapter! Crazy. Pretty sure it took me several months to get that much with S&B. One of the perks of being featured, eh? Though I'd be remiss (and I have to use the word 'remiss' once in a while or my head explodes) if I didn't mention that those 15 dislikes irk me. I realize that the vast majority of them are from people who downvoted the story based purely on the concept and/or genre, and those people are childish assholes, but that's still just short of half of all the dislikes S&B got for thirty dang chapters. Hopefully the dicks who jumped on the "RAAAAGH HUMAN IN EQUESTRIA RAGE RAGE RAGE" train are done, and the rest of you can enjoy things in peace.
Speaking of you fine people who did support my story, I would like to thank you for the overwhelmingly positive feedback I've received. This is a story I've had the backburner for a good while now, and I'm very glad that it's resonated with many of you. I've been typing like a madman over the last two days, and truth be told I could post the next chapter RIGHT NOW if I wanted to, but I feel like I could still add more to improve it before release. I might just post it tomorrow night, since the things I want to add are relatively minor, just a paragraph or two.
The one concern that I saw pop up frequently was that it wasn't very clear that Tercio is, indeed, our human character. While I did leave it deliberately vague for the purpose of filling in his character later, I might have been too vague. I'll likely pull up the chapter and see what I can add to make things more clear without breaking the flow or info-dumping. We'll see.
Finally, as the post title says: sex sells. Let's compare 4 days of JBtD with the entire release of my other story, Red Sky, shall we?

Nothing wrong with being obsessed. I certainly am and it has got to the point that I am planning to build a device that will create a portal to the Equestria. Now that I have the plan I only need to build the machine and for that I'll need to study physics so the hardest part is behind, right?
But seriously I would not to let the downvotes bother since there are just few probably given by people who did so for the reason you mentioned on the blog. Why let something bother that you can't affect anyway.
Actually why I am never gonna write a story is just because I would die at the second when I get first dislike plus I would need one helluva proofreader.

Yeah, I know I've had a share of dislikes on my story based purely on the genre. Normally such things don't bother me, but the fact that most of those dislikes likely come from folks who didn't even bother to read the story in the first place... yeah.
