Legal Notice from High Lord Windvane · 7:59am Jan 30th, 2014
Received the following by e-mail from some magic-to-interdimensional-server thingie:
We, High Lord Windvane Upsilarterikos, rightful matrilineal descendant of the great Commander Hurricane the First of the Pegasus Tribe, do hereby serve notice upon Jordan179 that he is to cease and desist any identification of the common Pegasus of unknown and doubtless sordid origins known as Fluttershy with any claim upon the theoretical title of Commander, which has of course fallen into abeyance since our glorious and wholly voluntary union with the Realm of Equestria under Her Serene Highness, Princess Celestia, who stands as many-times-great-aunt by adoption to my own illustrious clan. We point out that the claim that she was foaled by my poor and confused sister Sweetwing is unsubstantiated, and indeed all aspects of this Fluttershy's claim are spurious.
This Fluttershy is a vile and low individual, who supports herself by unknown and probably illicit means in a vermin-infested hovel outside the peasant community of Ponyville. She consorts with the most disreputable sorts of ponies, including a common and vulgar weather patrol officer of little breeding who has no doubt put her up to this imposture, and an ambitious dressmaker of low birth who has previously employed her as a living mannequin. There are rumors that she has haunted a low tavern and engaged in lewd practices, no doubt to supplement her income by immoral means. There are even some who say that she is not a Pegasus at all, but some sort of vile shapeshifting demon.
It is obvious to anyone examining her record that she can scarcely be said to exemplify the highest traditions of our noble Tribe. She is a known coward, who hides from danger. Her wings are weak, her martial skills sorely lacking. Indeed, it is rightly bruited about that "Fluttershy can hardly fly," which is hardly the distinguishing characteristic of a descendant of the great Commander Hurricane. Truly, even the suggestion of such a relationship is distressing to the pride of all true Pegasi, and highly-insulting to our noble race.
Therefore, you will desist from hinting at any such connection even in your works of fiction. If you do not, I shall be forced to ...
... and the rest of this is broken off. Though when I tried to print his message out, it was entirely soaked in a substance resembling by sight and smell (though I did not actually taste it) chocolate milk.
I wonder what I should do about this?
If this is a sequel hint, I'd be very happy.

Eventually, heh. Let's just say that I was re-watching "The Rainbow Factory," and while there's no way that this could be part of my fanon, I started thinking about the mentalities of the kinds of Pegasi to which the notion of conducting equine sacrifice to gain power might be attractive, and that led me to the points I'd brought up in Fluttershy Is Free about her very noble family hating her; and in An Extended Performance where Celestia (thinking about what would happen if the Realm fell) muses that "High Lady" Fluttershy is actually the rightful heir to the Pegasi Mandate, even if no one would accept her as such. And the blog post just kind of wrote itself.
And no, Rainbow Dash wouldn't be involved in any evil conspiracies. You may note that the legal missive insults (without naming) Rainbow Dash and Rarity; insinuating that they are part of a con job: they're known to be Fluttershy's closest friends.
Needless to say, if Fluttershy ever read the contents of this blog, she'd probably be horrified and humiliated. Please don't show it to her, ok?
The presence of the chocolate milk makes me think that Windvane might want to worry about one of Fluttershy's other friends, with whom she hasn't yet made friends. This is illegal, as in violating the laws of causality, but then causality and the Trickster were never on more than a nodding acquaintance anyway, and sometimes a hostile one.

Oh, and the darkest story referenced in the post, "Fluttershy's Night Out," isn't mine. It's Bad Horse's. Damn thing has wormed its way into my fanon, because it makes far too much logical sense.

I'm glad you liked it. Windvane is now officially Fluttershy's Evil Uncle in my fanon. The Rainbow Factory, in my fanon, really does just use paramagnetism, moisture and the background emanation of the Elements to make its rainbows.
But there is a radical Pegasus faction that believes that the Pegasi are the true Master Race and would like to bring down Equestria in order to (as they believe) enable Pegasi dominance. They also believe that it would be right and proper for members of inferior races -- and inferior members of their own race -- to be destroyed, both to drain their life forces and to improve the breeding stock of Ponykind. And, of course, to eliminate the competition.
If they ever took power, I promise you that new Rainbow Factories, with very different internal architecture and workflow processes, would be going up everywhere. Perhaps in newly-conquered lands, so as to not disturb the good citizens of the Pegasus Empire with their sadly necessary operations.
