    Fire Emblem Fates Review

Hey, guys. Sorry there is not really a Critique Review this week. Real life has been kind of busy with the last few days. Especially this past week. WIth Halloween and the fact that I have a couple members on my team who are just awful to work with. And it’s caused me a lot of stress this week and it’s affected my ability to work on my reviews.

    This is our story... #5

Hey, guys. Another week and another 'This is our story'. I always have trouble figuring out how to start these things. I try to keep them original so they don’t get boring, but I find that increasingly hard to do, other than saying that I’m still here.

I had… a really rough week last week.

Red Eyes, Red Nose, Redheart by Stavicodone · 4:30am Jan 30th, 2014

Hey, guys. Fireemblemspider here. And welcome to another edition of my fan fiction reviews.

I’d like to introduce to you a romance fan fiction that was written pretty damn well. It is a human to a pony fic, but it’s probably the best one I’ve ever read.

Red Eyes, Red Nose, Redheart by Stavicodone

Again, it’s a human to a pony fan fic, but the romance is played out really well. It doesn’t feel forced. It feels legit and it’s actually really sweet.

If you haven’t read it this story yet, I ask you to go read it. It’s a great story take a look at it. And it’s certainly better than the review.

For those of you who aren’t going to read it, I’ll give you the lowdown.

The story starts with a character named Anon, who owns a diner in Equestria. Anon is the human, who has somehow come to Equestria. How? Isn’t really explained. There is the mention of a brand, but there isn’t any mention as to how he appears or why, he just sort of appears.

Anyway, his business is booming as he hires two young teenagers to work at his store. The teenagers seem to take a liking to Anon as he seems to be a generally caring boss.

One of his reoccurring customers is Nurse Redheart. Redheart and Anon tease each other and Redheart explains about how she is going to be transfered Pediatrics.

She’s a little distraught at the thought of watching over dying children and her being helpless to aid them.

Anon convinces her that it won’t be as bad as she thinks and that she needs to stop worrying so much.

The next day, Redheart reappears in the diner, but is feeling a bit under the weather. Anon comes to her side and discovers that she isn’t quite feeling well. Redheart tries to convince Anon that she is well enough to go to work. However, Anon doesn’t think she should put the children in danger. Anon finally convinces her to see a doctor and Anon even escorts her there.

The pair get to the doctor and discover that Redheart isn’t the only pony with the disease. It turns out that several other ponies also have the disease that is being called “Feverfew Flu”. The doctor prescribes a list of medicines for Redheart and that she needs to rest for a few days.

Anon agrees to escort Redheart home. He helps put her into bed. He gives her the medicine and Redheart passes out. Anon gathers ingredients for a special soup that his father used to make for him when he was younger. As such, he starts to miss the place he left behind. However, he pushes those thoughts aside in order to focus on helping Redheart.

He gives Redheart the broth and she accepts it hardily. Anon then finds a book that contains several drawings by the children Redheart had been helping to treat before her rotation. One child in particular brings Redheart to tears as it reminds her of the one child who didn’t make it.

Anon tries to comfort her and Redheart asks Anon to take care of her during the course of the night. Anon agrees and sleeps in the other room, ready to help Redheart at a moment’s notice. Before her rest, Anon gets a book from his sack and reads it to Redheart.

After the story, Redheart is placed into bed. Anon attempts to leave but Redheart asks him to stay and keep her warm. And our story ends with Anon feeling for the first time in his life that he is happy.

And now I presume judgment … I ask for silence please…

..

This is story is actually pretty good. It’s not perfect as I do have problems with it, but as a whole it is still a pretty solid story and an enjoyable one.

There are things that I do question. For example, how the hell did Anon get to Equestria? Where did he come from? What’s this brand that he’s got going on? How did he get that?!

Another thing that bothers me is Anon himself. He seems a little too perfect. He treats everyone with respect and is a generally all around nice guy. He knows exactly how to help everypony. He comes up with the perfect way to comfort or help out Redheart everytime. He just seems a little too perfect. Maybe I’m judging this too harshly, but I would have like to see more of the coming to terms with the world of talking ponies. He just seems a little too accepting of everything around.

Of course, that could be just me.

Overall an enjoyable experience. The descriptions are fantastic, the story is simple, but fun and sweet. The characters are great, if a little too perfect at times. Going into Redheart’s psyche was fun and it was nice to see a character that doesn’t normally get a lot of attention. I would recommend it as it is the only Human to Pony fan fic that I have enjoyed. Check it out and leave a favorite. You won’t regret it.

Thanks for reading guys. Have a great day.

Sorry but human on pony still makes me...................... Makes me.............................

:pinkiesick::pinkiesick::pinkiesick::pinkiesick::pinkiesick::pinkiesick::pinkiesick::pinkiesick::pinkiesick:

1773420 While I do agree, the story is actually written well, which is why I gave it a thumbs up. I won't let my personal preference on HIE affect my judgment on how well something is written. That's something I promised myself I wouldn't do when I started this reviewing thing. The same goes with clopfics. I personally hate them, but if they are written well enough I will give them a thumbs up. :pinkiehappy:

1773634 In that case I present a one-shot fic that, while could easily be taken as clop, actually isn't. It confused me to no end, since I don't like clop, but yet I had to favorite it because of how bizarre, original, well written it was

1774912 I understand.

And while I still stand by my points, I understand where you are coming from.

I wasn't trying to be harsh on Anon and if it seemed that way, I apologize. He just seemed out of place to me. I realize that Equestria is probably a utopia with most of its citizens being generally nice and very likable. But it just still bothers me that we are never given any depth as to how he is adjusting.

Again, I'm probably being to harsh on the character since most of the ponies within this world don't seem to care that he's a human.

It's was just weird to me.

Again, the story was very well written and very well done, and I did find enjoyment in it. :pinkiehappy:
