In-Depth Analysis: Aloe and Lotus Blossom · 7:56pm Jan 29th, 2014
In light of recent events (recent events being me getting another fic into my Spa Pony series, and having said fic giving me my very first feature), I have decided to give an in-depth analysis on the two mares that made it possible.
Bio: The spa ponies, Aloe and Lotus Blossom, are two Earth pony beauticians who work at the Ponyville Day Spa. They have not been named in the show, but they are named in merchandise apparently. I'm not exactly sure whether they were first named in merchandise or by the fandom, though given the nature of pretty much all of the background ponies' names, it would conclusively be the fandom that gave them their names. However, we all just refer to Lotus Blossom as simply "Lotus". Not much is known about them outside the episodes they appear in, though.
Design: Aloe is the pink twin with blue hair while Lotus is the blue twin with pink hair. They wear headbands and... neck things, as their spa pony uniforms. THeir cutie marks resemble a lotus flower. Their appearance is similar to the babies of the G1 Surprise Twins Pony, and they share that color scheme. They also share the color scheme of the G2 Rose and Lily. They also share Rarity and Octavia Melody's eye design. How crazy is it they share so much similarities with other ponies?
Appearances: Lotus Blossom first appears in the episode Bridle Gossip, and later they appear together in Green Isn't Your Color. In the former episode, Lotus only appears briefly in the final scene, asking Zecora for the ingredients of her herbal bath. She speaks with a strong but indistinct Eastern European accent. We can assume Aloe speaks with the same accent, seeing as they're twin sisters. They both also appeared in Green Isn't Your Color, offering many services such as massages, mud baths, seaweed bath wraps, steam rooms, and even horn filing for unicorn ponies. Rarity comes in for her "usual" and returns for a second time as soon as she's finished. Aloe does not seem to notice that Fluttershy is not a unicorn pony when she attempts to give her a horn filing regardless before realizing her mistake and backing away. Aloe and Lotus also appear in A Friend in Deed where they give Cranky Doodle Donkey a service as a gift from Pinkie Pie. Lotus also later appears in Ponyville Confidential, where she attempts to give Rainbow Dash a hooficure, which she refuses hastily.
There are also other spa ponies shown in some of the episodes, but I won't go into detail, simply because this is mainly about Aloe and Lotus.
Now, what are my thoughts on the two spa ponies? Well, Aloe and Lotus are certainly an interesting duo. Being twins makes them that much more interesting, and beautiful ones at that. Adding to the fact they work at a spa makes them practically awesome. Hmm, perhaps I could've used a better word than awesome, but whatever. Because of that, any writers who decide to use them such as myself get to do some pretty unique things that you can't do with other ponies. They have a whole spa at their disposal, so if you can use that to your advantage as I have with my stories, you can write some pretty interesting scenes. Out of the two, my favorite is Lotus since my favorite color's blue, and she was the only one out of the two to have a speaking role in the show. She also makes more appearances than Aloe. Don't get me wrong. I actually like the color pink.

My depiction in the fanfics I wrote of them. I made Lotus the more extroverted one of the twins simply because to me, she looks the part, and as previously mentioned, she is the only one of the two with a speaking role. As for Aloe, I made her not really introverted, but less so than Lotus, as you could probably tell in the three stories I wrote, including the latest one. It was so I could work with two different ponies with slightly different personalities. If they both had similar personalities, the writing would've been a bit less interesting.
Anyway, I thank all of you who read all three stories in the stories thus far, and without you, I would've never gotten A Mare's Desire featured, also giving me my very first featured story. Sometime in the future, I will be planning a spin-off to this series, so look out for that.

Yeah, I'm a bit ashamed the first fic of mine that got featured turned out to be a clopfic... and it turned into my most popular fanfic within the span of 48 hours. I didn't even work hard on this fic. I gave little effort. Yet the one other fic I worked very, very hard on isn't much popular.

1773570 Though I hate to say it, clopfics seem to get more recognition on this site compared to other story genres. Although I do not entirely condone clopfics - just the ones that are written simply for the sake of sexual gratification.
