Mixed Emotions About The Ending · 2:41am Dec 9th, 2013
Ok, so I've been getting a lot of back-and-forth about the ending to the story Eyes Wide Shut. Some people liked it. Some people didn't. And you know what? That's cool. I'm glad you guys read it. I'm glad you enjoyed it. And if you're disappointed in the ending, let me say I'm glad you liked the story to care enough about how it wrapped up. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it, but let me say this:
I had fun with this ending. Yeah, it's a bit short. And if it seems a little feminist propaganda to you, well, that's not my intent. But I enjoyed writing it. I liked the idea, and I smiled when I wrote it. Which, to me, is more important than trying to cater to everyone. I figured some people wouldn't like the ending. That's ok. You're allowed to. I'm glad some people did. But the story is done, and so, I move on to my other works.
This story started off as some writefaggotry for /mlp/, and it turned into a full-fledged story. A short one, meant to entertain. And I'm glad so many people read it, liked it, and came back for more. That makes me happy.
So all in all, I'd call this story a success.

P.S. If you think the ending is bad simply because it feels like I just pulled it out of my ass or something, keep in mind that's what I did with every bloody chapter. I didn't plan any of this.

I was honestly expecting something like a "turn y'all into mares for a few days, see how you like being gawked at" spell or something.
Guess I spent too much time on the weird pony side of the internet...
Anyway, thanks to the aforementioned brain dysfunction of mine, the actual ending pretty much blindsided me and my only reaction was a simple "oh".
So I enjoyed the story, while the ending left me pretty much neutral. (Which I guess is better praise than some of what you've gotten today, actually.)
I say let 'em whine.
So what? Not going to spend the effort to improve it at all?
Story is great and while I dislike the ending because I still think this is all "The Night Perv Formally Known As Luna", fault and that she needs to stop dream walking where she's not needed.

1588289 Actually he did add an alternate ending to the tale (without deleting the original). Meaning now there is a way to please both types of people (the ones who thought the original ending was good and the ones who thought it was crap).

I'm sorry to hear you sort of felt pressured into making an alternate ending that you didn't want. This is the second story That recently got completed that has had this problem. While I do feel that a lot of the negative comments were over reactions, given that they obviously enjoyed the ride, I won't deny that I liked the alt ending a lot more, and didn't really care for the resolution of the original, for much the same reasons.
In the future, try to worry less about people who dislike the ending, ya gotta remember, people who dislike it are far more vocal than people who would have been content with it.
