As I feared, the big changes make it hard to enjoy as much. The Twilight flying scenes are irksome. Her giraffe neck doesn't help, either.
And she's still kinda stuck-up in a weird way. Overall, though, too much of a Scooby-Doo vibe to this ep for me.
Oh well. Maybe the distatste will fade. Just feels wrong, though.

1557019 It just bugs me so much that stuff was changed for no good STORYtelling reason. Twilight is still smug, just now she flops around in the air and has some stupid prophesy hanging over her head.
The characterization of all the others was awesome, I loved it, but her character just puts a damper on it for me.
and what the fuck is up with her incredible telescoping neck? I HATE the "she's growing" look. It reinforces all the negative thoughts I originally had about the change. Some would say that makes me shallow, but they can bite me.
I don't like it, and I never will. I am nothing if not firm in my convictions. Lost causes are merely the realm of the truly dedicated.

Well hay there. Long time no see. 
Yes, well... focus on the good parts and just remember that MLP has always struggled to do adventure arcs well, tending to get caught up in justifying why everything is suddenly different and why the ponies need to go on an adventure.
In my mind, it's good to have them back and now that the necessary season premier is out of the way, season 4 may now begin.

Hey, I saw you had a post up the other day and meant to get to it later. :) I'm glad to have new content, don't get me wrong. I just am not able to pull an about-face and love something I feel is a poor decision.
And the more people tell me (and I mean others, not you or Thistle) to get over it and move on, the more I dig in and say, "You know what? Screw you, it's stupid and I don't like it and here's EXACTLY why I think it's wrong." It triggers an urge in me to beat them about the head and shoulders with my opinions until they give in and admit I may have a point, whether they agree with it or not. It's effective, more often than not.
But like i say, that's not directed at YOU- I can agree with everything you say. I just want my S4 without Twilight Sparkbitch or her goddam wings. :)

Well, only time will tell how they handle Twilight being a alicorn. I will say that since the focus is on Twilight, and now she is living in the castle, there is a good chance of more Luna and Celestia (mostly for two best friends play footage) but mostly LUNA!!!!

Well, hold on- she's not LIVING at the castle, she's just going to read some books to try and figure out what's up with the dang box.
And... I'm not so much rageful as disappointed with some of the changes that have been made. That, and I'm a stupendously stubborn bastard who, while acknowledging what others believe, refuses to alter my own opinion without seeing something persuasive.
Now, this can happen. I got to talk to MA Larson at Nightmare Nights, and some of our conversation made me re-think parts of MMC.

MMC it's the abbreviation for the S3 ender, Magical Mystery Cure. I don't know about any Molestia, but MMC (Meghan McCarthy this time) joked about Appledash on twitter... though in all honesty, I'd expect Celestia to have some sadness as well as her pride for Twi, since living forever and having so much responsibility will suck.
Is the long neck look because they're showing more neck? I haven't gone back thorough the seasons, but it seems like they used to keep the pony's manes towards the viewer more than now.
