    Just Keep Typing...

    Hey Peeps.

Things are still slogging along, in spite of what it may seem.
Unfortunately things may come to a temporary halt for another fair stint.

    Over a Year

It has been over a year since my last chapter was put up.

Does that make me a bad person?

*ducks and cowers from the loud, resounding confirmations*

What if I just posted another chapter and took my fic off its hiatus status? Still a bad guy?

    *ducks thrown objects*

    Time Keeps Marching On

It's that time of year again. Probably time to update something if not my story.

That probably isn't what any of you wanted to hear though, am I right? Yeah admittedly I really wanted to have a new chapter up too. Alas twas not to be!

    The Empire Strikes Back!

Or in this case, the Everfree.

New chapter is up! Hope it was worth the wait. I forewarned it's more dark nature in my last post, but with my editor freshly traumatized, I perhaps need to make another warning here.

Chapter 13: Clearing the Skies, Part 1 is out!
Go! Read! Have fun!
Fore warning: Snails' inner thoughts shall be revealed. Laughs may be had. Those with weak hearts may wish to avoid those areas.

So a LOT has happened since my last chapter posting about two months ago. There's, of course, the new fic pic, and I throw a huge ball of thank you's at Jenner every day for that, but there's more as well. Between my last chapter posting to now 'Our Time to Fly' had its thumbs go from 89 to 133, and the faves went from hovering up and down around 105 to 159.

Just wow, people. Wow. I am truly astounded at how many have come by in the last two months, especially since I was so inactive during the time. I wanted to bounce up and down, and spam the community with thank you's the moment my thumbs hit a hundred. Somehow I managed to restrain myself from even a blog post. I kept saying 'you're almost done this chapter man. Just wait it out, wait it out and keep to the writing'.

Turns out I wasn't almost there at all. I have been sent on course after course after course, and have only managed about 2 weeks in my own apartment over these last months. Even now I type to you all from a tiny two bed room somewhere in the vicinity of Victoria, B.C, away once again on course. Classes reign over my days and studies tie down my nights. I'm usually so tired from either of these things that the last thing I want to do is sign into Google Drive to type a few thousand more words. Instead what rare amount of time I had for recreation was spent indulging in episode after episode of Star Gate.

Only the rare occasion presented itself for editing and writing, and the only reason I finished this partition now was purely due to Path_of_Cloud who asked me to edit his latest chapter. He doesn't know it, but staring at his work made me feel like crap. Here he was, cranking out an entirely new story idea, and I didn't even want to look at another keyboard until the new year. But I am a man of obligation. I said I'd attempt to edit his stories if he asked, and he asked. Strange as it is for him to do so. I mean his work outshines mine in every possible way, so him coming to me for advice on what to write when he has such a huge following seems very backwards to me somehow.
In any case, I do my best never to do something half way, so I delved into the editing with everything I had, trying to be as helpful as I could. While writing suggestions and the like for him, however, I became inspired. Seeing his chapter update is just below my own half-finished update in my Google drive every day I went back to put in more effort fixed my resolve to get back to work. So if you enjoyed my latest update, I insist you thank him for it by going over to read a few of his stories.
In a very real sense, he's the only reason my chapter seen daylight this side of the year.

Being on course also stops me from watching tv (my roommate had all the seasons of Star Gate on his lappy) or streaming, unfortunately. That means the new season is out and I cannot watch yet, so please don't tell me what happened in the newest episode before next weekend. I've avoided the many teasers of season 4, and I can't wait to enjoy it with bright unsuspecting wonder of what the episodes will be about.

Also, if you have a favoured part or question about this chapter (or any other) please! Post a comment! I love talking about the little scenes, answering ideas or thoughts on how things have gone. Sometimes I even have a little story how I came up with it, or what was running through my head at the time.

Off topic: Did anyone happen to see Monsters Inc the college years? I never bothered since, I really didn't think Pixar needed a college movie, but they have surprised me with their premises I never thought I'd like but ended up loving. (Cars. I'm looking at you. But not your sequels.) Let me know if you enjoyed it!

Monster's University? I thought it was great.

... I did not have the story faved.

I am an idiot.

Oh and BTW, Path_of_Cloud does good one-shots, and that's it... your writing is better than his.

Then I shall take you at your word and buy the dvd tomorrow.

But you are watching me! Which is pretty awesome in my book. Plus I do update my blog every time I post a chapter, so you don't miss out in either case. I applaud you.

Agree to disagree? Numbers rarely lie, though they can be skewed, And who is better is often very relative and personal preference so numbers tend to be a better way to judge in my head anyway. In any case I'm incredibly happy you enjoy my work so much!

Followed the story now, and yeah. Agree to disagree. Humble authors are always good. And no. Number's do not work... they just. Don't.

Yeah, I'm awesome :rainbowdetermined2:

I like to think so! :yay:
No matter anyone's opinion, the only reason my story has even been noticed by most of my readers is because you blogged it.
