I am SO proud AND weary of us right now. (Science post.) · 3:50pm Oct 30th, 2013
On this day, humanity learned how to set water on fire.
I am not kidding.
How awesome isn't that?

Heh, That reminds me of this one time during my first job. We were cutting out walls in a cotton warehouse with a propane/oxygen cutting torch, well...one of the bolts we were cutting popped off and went flying over my head and landed on the gas lines. I was young and new to the whole thing so when the red hot bolt started burning through the line I logically thought fire plus flammable gas equals boom and promptly jumped from a scissor lift that was about 15 feet in the air.....fun times. Needless to say the crew I was with had a good laugh at my expense.
1466634 I probably would have done the same thing, but dude, that's funny.

Ouch. No permanent damage, I hope?
1466764 Nah, I would have made a cat proud of my landing.

Glad to hear it.
And thanks for sharing, it was a fun little anecdote.
