If you guys follow video game news you might have heard of the INSANELY successful kickstarter for Keiji Inafune's Mighty No. 9 game. A kickstarter I myself took part in because it looks amazing and I want to stick it to Capcom for being a bunch of flankholes.
Still, with all the hubub about the new successor to Megaman, one other deserving Kickstarter campaign has sadly taken a back seat.
Shantae, Half Genie Hero is a project by the fine folks of WayForward and I think it also deserves some love. The guys at WayForward are behind some of the most fun I've had with a platformer in years. I LOVED Shantae: Risky's Revenge on DSiware, and the two Mighty Switch Force game on 3DS were an incredible ammount of fun. The original Shantae game is kicking my ass on virtual console though :p it's an insanely impressive game for a GBC title. They're also behind the recent DuckTales HD remake among other projects. For only 15$ you get what will undoubtedly be an excellent game, considering WayForward's track record, and Shantae in a blue outfit :p. So far only one stretch goal as been met, but it's the one that will essentially double the fun since it will let us play as Risky Boots, Shantae's nemesis, in hery very own campaign travelling through the same levels as Shantae but in a different order. So if you like that kind of action I can't recommand this project enough. Plus, more Shantae means more music by Jake Kaufman. Man's amazing.
Thanks for the heads-up! I was already involved with the Mighty No. 9 funding (and everyone, please help bump that one up to the 'Single-player Call level' goal!) but I would've missed the Shantae one if you hadn't mentioned it.
I'd also like to point out another one which is in its final 48 hours, Sunless Sea. It's set in the same world as the browser game Fallen London, so I'm already in love with the setting and narrative style. And given that pedigree, it's a given that player choice will actually matter in regards to how your character develops, and what sort of missions become available to you.

1388174 I voted for Call "E", though "A" and "B" were also interesting. "C" had some interesting design ideas, but just gave off too much of a "destroy all meatbags" vibe to me, and the rest looked too much like Roll.

shantae is a pretty good game actually, does a fanfiction crossover with mlp exist? If anyone know such a fanfiction, pease let me know.
