Funny story. I woke up the day after The Wonder Years was posted and saw ~20 notifications. I said, “self, you can clean up that queue while on break.”
Off to work I went. Checked in later, ~50 now over red exclamation point.
….Okay, a little higher than I am used to, but I can adapt.
Then someone pushes some code and...
So spent all day cleaning up the aftermath and taking care of my usual tasks. (Oh, your database is corrupt, sir. What do you mean you don’t have any backups? No, copying the desktop icon doesn't constitute a backup of the application). Then topped it all off with a bit food poisoning. Went home, ingested pink medicine, slept.
Maybe not in that order.
The point of my rambling, you may ask.
I have about ~500 notifications sitting there.
Staring at me.
Menacingly.
To be perfectly honest, I haven’t even glanced at the story's page since Wednesday.
And if anyone says I took one look at the number, closed the browser and did an impression of an ostrich, I’ll deny it up and down.
Rest assured, I'm not ignoring anyone’s comments. Last I checked there are ~90 on the story.
I simply need some time to process and formulate replies in organized fashion. (Excel may be involved. Why yes, I do tend to over complicate things. Why do you ask?)
My logic is the following: people took the time to read and offer a comment(positive or negative). It is then basic courtesy that I look them over and offer a reply if possible.
I can’t promise every comment will get a response, but I want you all to know that I am thrilled (and slightly scared, to be frank) by the overwhelming response the story has received.
I thank you all and will do my best to meet your expectations.
Cordially yours,
Seether00
A good problem to have, isn't it?

What? The food poisoning? I didn't think so .I felt terrible.
1378757 No, that is a terrible thing.
I meant having too many Favorite notifications to sort out.

I know exactly how you feel, though I didn't return to 500 notifications. .-.
I know that feel, bro. When I first submitted Finding Your Place, I woke up the next morning to a few hundred notifications and myself in the feature box. My bran broke a bit.
Also, just noticed that your Eq D featured story... is your least popular one.
I feel the most peculiar sense of envy and pity. I think I'll call it envity.

I know. It is odd. Liberate the Sun is my baby, but the least popular.
Though Applejack's Tax Relief Plan and An Apple Comes out of the Cellar both made to EQD with Tax Relief being my most popular story.
Hmm... maybe Applejack is best pony.
The lesson, I suppose, is you cannot predict with certainty what will take off.
Fiber is critical for an healthy digestive system.
I am jelly...very jelly

Are you still alive?
