To all those following Our Girl Scootaloo;
After nearly two months away working on two other stories, starting a new job and moving to a new home, I'm finally in a position to try finishing this story. I am under no illusions that it's a particularly good story, but some of you seem to like reading it, I enjoy writing it, and I like to think the practice is helping me to get better. Along that line, I would like to shout out my appreciation to Cukker and Distle for helping me edit this story into something worth reading: Thanks guys!
The plan has always been to publish OGS in three parts: Childhood, The college years, and The rescue mission as parts one two and three. Problem is, parts one and three are almost done, but I only have a couple chapters of part two...
In light of this, I plan to start publishing part three in the next few days. I like to think it's a bit better than part one, but that's really for all of you to decide. I will try to begin posting part two as well, but I may be a while before I have more than a few chapters there, so bear with me.
Thanks again to everyone who reads this for your continued support and encouragement!
To all those following, I wanted to shout out an explanation of what I've been up to. With life settling down a bit, I've been getting more writing done, and hopefully you've been enjoying the results.
For the next month or so I will be trying to update every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and stick to the schedule until I run out of material to post. I've finally gotten the last of OGS 1 of 3 done, and chapter 20 should be Friday's update, to be followed by a 3 of 3 update on Monday and so forth.
I know full well that the story sill has plenty of errors, and to anyone who feels up to editing this mess, for each chapter you send me with the errors highlighted so I can fix them, I will send back an unpublished chapter of your choice. Two wonderful people have been kind enough to help me like this, and I very much appreciate the help! Thanks Cukker and Distle!
Hope you enjoy the stories, and happy reading.
Even "A" chapter of 2 would be nice as a placeholder. I spend little time on this site since it would take days to search for updates on the 1500+ stories I have. I use Calibre which makes things quick and easy, and having that URL would allow me to hit that update button and be good to go when you add to it. And it keeps my library a tiny bit more organized.
Saves me the trouble of asking about it...
Saw the update. I will say this! If you had disavowed any relation to being related to MLD it would probably have a bigger following/acceptance rating. The piggy back sort of writing that occurs quite often does seem to put off readers, at least as I have seen it.
From what I can tell though, your story looks to be a very interesting, and ambitious piece; at a glance. Quite familiar, that.
If nothing else, sire, kudos to sticking to your guns and writing so much for the story you wanted to tell. Also, apologies for the random message.

Quite true, it does get rejected by many readers for the connection. The reason I kept the link up and actually wrote MLD into my story as canon was to compare and contrast the options. Chapter 3.4 touches on this, but 3.16 'Problems of Ethics' is going to take this on in detail and ask some very hard questions.
I have enjoyed your work before, and am eagerly awaiting the next chapter of 'Thunder Struck'; It means a lot that someone of your skill level would be interested in reading my work, especially while I'm still struggling to find and remove all the grammar errors.
I am well aware that OGS represents quite an investment of time to read, so if you have reservations about diving in, you might sample the ten page short 'The Frozen West' instead. Just be warned, this is not a story you want to read all alone in the dark...
