Rule 34 Updates resuming June 2016

I need to take a temporary leave of absence from the Rule 34 updates. I'll be back in a couple of months and will strive to have 3 months worth of data to discuss. In the meantime, please enjoy these pictures of shaved horses:

Meet the Feebles / We R Animals · 3:51pm Sep 2nd, 2013

Once again it's movie time with Bronystories! Gather around! I have plenty of popcorn for everyone!

In my 200th blog post, I made a reference to Meet the Feebles.

Meet the Feebles is a 1989 New Zealand dark comedy film directed by Peter Jackson.

Yes. That Peter Jackson. Before The Hobbit. Before King Kong. Before The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. There was Meet the Feebles.

The title of the film itself speaks to the human condition. People are feeble and this film holds a mirror to the dregs of human depravity, in the guise of animal puppets.

"Why do animated cartoonists use animals? For the same reason that Aesop, La Fontaine, Kipling, Beatrix Potter, and Kenneth Grahame did: it is easier and more believable to humanize animals than it is to humanize humans."
–Chuck Jones

The Feebles Variety Show is on the verge of a big break with tonight's live telecast. The future looks bright, as long as producer Bletch the walrus and director Sebastian the fox can hold the cast together. The performers each have their own set of problems. There's a knife-throwing frog with a drug addition, a rabbit who's been diagnosed with an STD, a dim-witted elephant who's been slapped with a paternity-suit and an overweight hippo star who's on the verge of an emotional breakdown. Into this chaos wanders young porcupine Robert, the newest, and most innocent member of the cast. Under guidance from stage-managing worm Arthur, Robert will try to earn his place on the show, win the hand of the beautiful poodle chorus girl and survive the carnage of the night's broadcast.

Basically, Meet the Feebles is to The Muppets what my fanfics are to My Little Pony. Virtually every conceivable vice, debauchery or bodily fluid appears in the film at some point. Drugs, porn, violence, even the terrors of tabloid press are all paraded past the camera.

Jackson brings his most important trademark as a director to the film, which is a genuine affection for his characters. Despite being puppets, and often vile, grotesque puppets, each of the Feebles has a distinct personality and soul. Jackson even allows for some sympathy and pathos, so by the end of the film, the audience genuinely cares about the fate of the characters. You can watch the movie here.

Those of you who've read my fanfics probably have a good idea of my sense of humor. Let's just say that when Harry the rabbit's story arc was concluded I was grinning from ear to ear.

And of course, having a fetish for anal play, I thoroughly enjoyed the show-stopping musical number, Sodomy. (Video contains spoilers!)

Here's Peter Jackson during production, as well as a behind the scenes video.

I have good news for those of you who were too young to enjoy Meet the Feebles when it was first released. There's a new R-rated puppet movie in the works called We R Animals.

As of this writing, We R Animals is currently still in production. We do have a synopsis, though.

Snow White the rabbit is stuck in a sadistic man’s pet store, she craves for love but nobody wants to take her home. But one day the animals wreck havoc and they all escape, including Snow White. She gets lost with her new-found freedom and almost dies, until the nice old lady Alice saves her. Snow White would’ve had a bright future if not for Alice’s jealous and vindictive dogs, who call on their friend Flash, a shady and devious pimp cat. Together they plan to transform Alice’s apartment into a brothel for animals, and force Snow White and even the human Alice into prostitution.

We R Animals is a comic adventure, filled with drug using cats, horny dogs, cat-ninja assassins, vampire bats, cruelty and magic. In essence We R Animals is a love story told with warmth, where sometimes the laughter sits in the throat and forces us to question the morals and views of both animals and man.

Yep, I can understand why that would appeal to you, of all people. :raritywink:

You cheeky dickwaffle. :trollestia:

I'd rather be one than eat one. :raritywink:

If Jeff Dunham and Stan Kirkhope directed the Muppets, this is what it would look like.

The Daddy to the rescue moment, that sort of awakening of what really matters. That was tight. With blown out kneecaps by a tek9 too.

That moment with the Rabbit. I can see where you get the inspiration. xD

That Sebastien lol that song and dance was priceless. The testicle background decorations and penillias/pillars only enhanced his musical number.

The docks stuff was comical to say the least, but my favorite part was the whorish cat that walked into the room and gave the not-so-ingenious helpful advice to the hippo.

It was certainly, different. Tame by comparison, for sure, to some of your writing of course. :rainbowlaugh:

Holy shit.

When I saw that DVD re-release cover with 'From the Director of "The Lord of the Rings,"' I just took a step back mentally lol.

What has spurred you on this string of controversial book and movie spotlights? I mean, what's next, Cannibal Holocaust where they actually abuse and kill live animals? :twilightoops:

What has spurred you on this string of controversial book and movie spotlights?

There are just a lot of films that I've been thinking about recently. You actually prompted another blog post, which will be forthcoming.

Dat ending though. That ending was a Slaughterhouse is to an Obituary. :pinkiecrazy:
I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and I'm probably going to go see We R Animals when possible.

In any other era or style it would be incredibly... dare I say "Terrible" :twilightsheepish:

You know this was the first film Peter Jackson and his wife Fran Walsh did together.
