Misanthropes or how i love to call them: Heretics.
Misanthropes often complain how corrupt human society is, how destructive we are and how cruel and merciless we are to each other. But the real funny thing is, despite how horrifying our society appears to be, they still chose to live amongst the so called 'evil' humans. They eat food grown and made by humans, they go to dotcors and hospitals when they are hurt or sick, they play computer games, buy often useless stuff over the internet, watch youtube videos on their iphones and ipads, insult people over X-box live and yet they still complain how evil our technology is -despite using it themselves- and how better it would be if we all live in harmony with nature.
There is only one true word to describe them: Spoiled. Simply spoiled.
They don't truly know how shitty life used to be and how comfortable they have it these days. In those earlier times there was no car who could transport you fast and comfortable to the supermarket or somewhere else. The earlier medicine practices consisted mostly of stinging you with a giant needle and letting all the blood flow out in hope the bad stuff would come out. And the entertainment mostly consisted of work and hoping you would survive the next winter.
But those aren't even worst things that could happen to you in earlier times, provided a disease didn't killed you or you simply starved to death there was still the local feudal lord who would force you into his army or demand certain services(who were physically hard and exhausting) without payment. You as a lowly peasant didn't really have any rights like today. And we have still the thing with armies (who weren't usually payed but expect to take everything from the places they roam, like yours) and bandits. There are of course much more terrifying things about the past centuries but the few previously mentioned facts are enough to give people an impression how bad life used to be.
And today, we have all kind of luxury. Internet, healthcare, human rights, cars, planes, a gigantic variety of non-contaminated food and drinks, computers and etc.
From a primitve hunter and gatherer society to a technology high advanced civilization with the capability to send a man to the moon.
And despite how much we as a species advanced in those few centuries, they still complain. Just ignoring all the glorious scientifc achievements, the progresses in medicine, the development of a global network to connect nearly the entire world and the changes in society and law.
Spoiled.
Spoiled and whiny are the only words to describe them.
So let them worship their fictional species, let them live in their fantasy worlds and let them hate us, then when their dream-bubble burst, it will hit them harder than anything else.

It's not easy to maintain the historical perspective when, every day, across all news outlets, reports spill on the terrors plaguing the world (Fortunately we don't hear of every single automobile incident; we might just lock ourselves indoors if we did.). It helps that our natural psychology predisposes us towards establishing immediate baselines, and make comparisons from these recent baselines, with greater emotional impact and greater heuristic dependencies—although I agree with you on all points regarding human advancements over history (and I'm optimistic as to where we're headed), the post comes off on the other deep end.

Well, I found your group, looked around a bit at the content and posts, and found your post about a guy named reddie5037. So, I clicked his link, found his page where he made a counter group to yours (kinda hilarious, your reactions were), and found the part where he called you an insult spewing something-or-other. He left the link to your page, which brought me to the blog, and the rest is history.
A few observations... first, Zin Empire? Saints Row 4 much? Second, "Misanthropy is the path to damnation"... now, I'm not a religious person much, but to me, that sounds kinda cultish...
I dunno, on one side, it's kinda childish, on the other side, I can see his point. If you don't wanna see misanthropes, why not just let them know the good side of life instead of insulting them and shoving your views? Let them know that not all humans are truly bastards.

The worst part is that their "counters" are nothing of the sort. Their idea of a counter is to say that humans are evil monsters with nothing but greed and sadism in their hearts (ignoring the fact that is they are, biologically, human). That doesn't count as a counter when the previous person said that things like medical advances and charities prove humans aren't all bad. That is an example. If you can't defend your argument, then you lose by default. That's how I won a debate where I argued that the South won the American Civil War. I'm so proud of that.

Heresy in 40K covers a wide-range of definitions. Speaking ill of humanity is definitely heresy because the Imperial Cult claims that humanity is divine due to the Emperor being a "God". Since He is human and a God, then humanity must be divine. Therefore, in the Imperium, speaking ill of humanity is equivalent to a dark ages parishioner cursing God to a priest's face.
That, of course, ignores the fact that he had standing orders to execute anyone who worshiped him.

Considering that I tend to read€ fics about this subject... I must say that you got it right on the head about misanthropes and how they act like hypocrites.
When I was younger, I grew up in a shack with my parents and four sisters, enduring cold nights and hot summers. Then a typhoon came and destroyed our house and forced us to live on the streets for some time until we could build another house.Wanna know what happened next?
Another typhoon came and destroyed that house.
Despite losing almost everything twice, my parents managed to find jobs and made sure that we got a good education, working themselves to exhaustion. My sisters and I grew up with almost nothing and became something because they refused to give up along with the help of others.
So whenever I read about misanthropes whine and bitch about how humanity is cruel and how shitty how society is, it makes me want to find someway to punch them through the internet.
I want to see those people live the life of someone who truly struggled to just live while raising a family and then they may complain about how cruel life is. Until then, if I meet one of these people in real life and see that they complain despite living a life I would have begged for during my childhood, I will honest to god knock their teeth out.
Sorry for my rant but your blog just made me remember how fucking spoiled some people are now a days.

Because progress is not linear, and progress can just as easily be used to hurt others, which humans are won't to do. As a misanthrope myself I can tell you from experience that people do not become Misanthrope because they want to. People become Misanthrope because they have bad experiences with humanity the same way a woman developed a hate for men. People with a bad experience will develop a hate for the thing that they have experience with like a woman with men, so Misanthrope people are not the exceptions. Misanthrope people do not become misanthrope because they want to, they just have bad experiences with people that they develop this hatred for them.

You are that type of person who loves to judge others but refused to see why some people are the way they are. I have been in the My Little Pony fandom for a long time, and I can tell you that you people are also hypocrite yourself. My Little Pony is a show that teaches us how to be Respectful, Nice To Others, and to Love And Tolerate. But instead, the majority of you people are a disrespectful, jerk, and you people just love to treat others like garbage.
