The Code Series - Emerald Flare, Code of Dissonance, and Unrealized Projects

Continuing with a longstanding desire to put old works to rest, this blogpost goes over the extremely scattered notes, ideas, basic plot threads and ideas that would have taken The Code's Apprentice stories to a 5 story... conclusion of sorts.

The Twilight Shadow - Basic Plot Outline Spoiler for Twilight War sequel.

As long promised, below was the full outline - along with a couple of half-finished scenes and a big prologue blurb - for The Twilight Shadow, the Penultimate "Twilight Struggle" story, and sequel to The Twilight War. These are mostly short blurbs, along with chapter names, and a general outline of the final set of events. I have other notes, but they're extremely rambly, and not terribly well

    Looking Back

Been a long time, hasn't it?

I know a lot of you have probably moved on, but I figured I at least owed it to the longtime followers - and continued readers - to finally check in.

    Another year passed.

So if you're wondering where I've been, here's the short version.

Living outside of a home of your own kinda sucks, and my new job is incredibly time and energy demanding.

The long version takes a bit more.

Project Refocusing Announcement! · 5:51am Jun 25th, 2013

This is an IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT regarding a combination of stories and update schedules!

So the last few chapters of Code of Harmony have brought a powerful point home to me - I really, really need to refocus myself, and the story flow is going painfully slow for my personal tastes.

On the suggestion of a good friend, I've decided to do something... a little out of character for me.

Instead of working on another small short fic, I've decided to face the fact that the Twi-Dash contest's deadline is fast approaching as a way of spurring my brain into action.

THEREFORE From now until July 14th, Code of Harmony updates will be every other day or so. I will work very hard to make sure there are at least 3 updates per week, and if I get into a good groove I may do more, but I will not promise more than 3 updates a week, starting IMMEDIATELY. (Weeks will be determined Sunday-to-sunday.)

In the meantime however, between Code of Harmony updates, I will be actively updating/writing my Twi-Dash contest fic, as opposed to submitting it all at once. This will accomplish two goals-

1.) It'll give me the impetus I need to actually write this damn thing.
and 2.) It will let me de-gauss my mind on Code of Harmon writing and hopefully clear up the writing pipes, much as I did when I was stuck on the last bits of Way to the Top.

I'll be returning to a much more vigorous update schedule after the Twi-Dash fic is done, although depending on my feelings I may be continuing this trend in order to clean out some of my shorter-fic backlog.

To all of my Code of Harmony readers, thank you for your support and patience, and I encourage EVERYPONY to come read my Twi-Dash fic when it goes live. I'll be making a blog post with a story link once it's been cleared through moderation.

Stay pony, my friends.

You had me at Twi-Dash.

Has it been released? Or will it be soon?

Like the old saying goes "quality over quantity" take all the time you need.

It'll be soon. Im polishing up the second chapter tonight, and I'll submit it for moderation before bed along with a blog-posted story link. Tomorrow, I'll work on a Code chapter, and the next day I'll do more Twi-dash.

OH MY GOD! ONLY 3 UPDATES A WEEK!?! You need to work harder!

In all seriousness though, take all the time you need, don't feel rushed. Your stories are great, it'd be awful to have them ruined by an arbitrary schedule you set for yourself. You update more often with higher quality stuff than many authors, so you're already fine in my book anyway.

WOOT! Can't wait for it!

I'm down for some TwiDash. Hope writing this helps you clear the writing pipes. Take all the time you need!

Take your time and don't worry about it. We're nothing, if not patient.
