Love is the only explanation that makes sense for what I go through for you all! And it has to make sense, or else I'd be crazy, right?
RIGHT?!
So updating! Looks like I have to commit another chapter split. I'm forty pages into chapter 10, and nowhere near where I want to be for the beginning of chapter 11. I have determined that these scenes don't need 'rewrites'. What they need is expanding on! In the professional world, I'm sure it would be very frowned upon to add a new chapter in it's entirety as you close in on the end of a book, I am therefore very glad for once that I am in no way a professional. This fic just grew that much longer, and my outline will be adjusted instead of this blasted run-on chapter.
What does that mean for you? my readers? It means my next chapter has already been completed outside of some format and scene placement adjustments, and you will likely be treated to it either over the weekend or Monday evening. Honestly, this move worries me in as many ways as it fixes things. In the last chapter Scootaloo took on her Cutie Mark through a great work of achievement and effort on her part. This next chapter was supposed to lead into the Fledgling Flier's qualifiers, and begin the tying up of all the loose ends. Therein lies the problem however. The sideplots are misbehaving and want a fair showing as they're finally tied together, and now they revolt against me as I try to neatly weave them into their tidy knots. These little pests have now successfully overthrown my plans and made room for themselves, intertwining into every aspect of the overall plot behind everything.
This ruination of story and unprofessional behaviour does not come without some added benefits however. With so much having been written already, it means I'm not only done chapter 10, I'm mostly done chapter 11 too. I have a buffer again! I will be releasing on time for two months in a row, where before it was questionable if I could even manage this singular one let alone July's. Now I can only hope that the reliable schedule and further story expansion is enough to sate the imaginary ravenous mob I dream will plague me for perfection in both story and the implementation thereof.
