I got arrested today. · 4:03am Apr 21st, 2013
I got into a fight.
I was at the park, minding my own business, when some drunk dude runs up to me and tries to take my wallet and IPod. I, naturally, fight back. Someone calls the cops, and the two who were fighting (ME and the drunk dude) get taken in. They put me in a cell until they were ready for questions.
My dad came and got me out once we were done.
So.... yeah.
Jail's not fun.
(Been there, done that. Yeah, it's not fun)
I assume that you will be asked to testify against this guy.
1023732 I believe so.
1023728 Been there, huh? Glad I have a friend with experience.
1023736
How long were you there for?
1023748 About two or three hours. I don't know why they couldn't have just questioned me in my cell, but no, they needed to get a whole room ready, and bring the guy in first, then clean it up again (Seriously, do they even need to do that) just so I can be questioned.
1023736
Can I give you a hug?
1023774
Yes, procedure and rights issues, and recording of the interrogation.
There have been many cases dropped simply because a person's rights were not followed as described in The Charter of Rights and Freedoms(Canada). Even if you kill someone, if you did not receive your rights when arrested, or if your house was seached and procedure was nip followed, then they have to drop the charges.
1023783 HUG GLADLY ACCEPTED.
1023785 Ah. That makes sense.
1023794
-Gives you a long, friendly hug- Everything will be alright, SJ. You will soon get your just retribution.
1023736
(No problem)
1023803>>1023805 Thanks, you guys.
1023809
At your service (SOY-vis)!
1023809
(You most very welcome)
1023815>>1023820
1023827

Indeed...again
That's all fine and dandy, but you left out the most important part:
Did you win?
In all seriousness, though, jail sucks. Just be glad you were only held for questioning.
...Odd how things turn out eh?
1024450 I clocked him in the skull a few times.
1024478 Yup.
1025246
But did. You. Win?
Never finished the fight. The Police came before we could.
But, yeah, I guess you can say I won.
1025415 I have to say something, before I get to the part where I give you big hug, and ask how you are doing.
STAY IN SCHOOL! I know this might sound random, but I cannot emphasize this enough. Me being homeless all started with me dropping out of college. Seriously, stay in school, graduate, go to a good college, and get a career that you will love having. Don't be me. Stay in school. Being homeless, I have to deal with those type of people every single day, and it is not fun. AT ALL. Stupid people, stupid people everywhere.
So, how are you, and are you safe?
1026756 I'm good, and yes, I'm safe. I've also decided to drop the charges placed on the guy.
1026820 What brought that choice on?
1026825 He was drunk, he had no idea what he was doing. I talked to him, and he has agreed to serve a hundred hours of community service in exchange for me dropping the charges. So, I did.
1026875 You are a very wise young man. Very compassionate too.
1026877 As are you.
1026881 Thanks. Tis not easy.
1025246 So, was this man armed in any way? Or did he just run straight up?
1027537 He was not armed.
