Greetings.
First of all, something about me. I suppose, that you already know that I'm serious glory and fame hugger. I don't want to make the story about how it's affecting my writing, but point is that everytime I see my ratings improve or increasing list of Favourites and Watching guys, it just treat my soul.
You know, at some point I started wondering how many times guys took their stories On Hiatus or Canceled, just because they didn't receive their attentions. In Poland, I have some friends that are in some point writers too, they tend to write small pieces of writing in Polish. Writing in Polish is even bigger challenge. The only site which works kinda like fimfiction.net or fanfiction.net have almost no popularity.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not self-centered guy. I was extremely proud of Kolwynia when she managed to be featured on EQD and Fimfiction.net with her Celestia in Excelsis. Same stuff was with vren55 and his Princess Celestia: The Changeling Queen.
Still... I guess I'm more proud of some other guys. Like for example : Hingard. This guy is in charge of Guardian of Heartfire, really nice OC-centered story. Now, look at this. Hingard is working on this story, even while it didn't receive much popularity or some kind of serious feedback or discussion. That's a guy, who should be a role model for a writer. To work on stories, that in general guys don't want to read is something truly admirable. Now, he received a review from The Equestrian Critics Society and he is re-writing entire story to be better for viewers.
Judging people is not something I like to do, but in this case I think Hingard should be the one who should receive all the fame and glory.
Okay, okay! Post is becoming Wall-of-Text, conclusion, conclusion!
I think, that people should look for sometimes on stories, that are not in "Featured" section, no matter if it's featured on fimfiction or EQD, or is it popular stories section of this site. I guess I wrote this in some earlier post, but I also think it's worth recalling. I would never guess, that at some point this one "thumbs up" would matter so much for me. It's something linked with the time we sacrifised to write our stories. The more we sacrifice for them, the more we care of them.
And that would be all.
