I'm going to Disneyworld + Crisis Chapter 1 Preview · 3:03am Mar 18th, 2013
In just a few hours, I'll be heading down to Florida until the 22nd in order to go to Disneyworld! It's basically a combined Christmas-Birthday present, even though Christmas has passed and my birthday is in July. Still, first time going! Of course, I won't be in the parks all day. I'll be writing Crisis on Two Equestrias at night. Hopefully the first chapter will be ready and up no later than Friday.
Here's a preview to get y'all started, though!
It was a bright and sunny day.
But Twilight Sparkle didn’t have time to enjoy it as she read the letter levitating in front of her aloud.
“Dear Twilight Sparkle,
“After some careful consideration, I have decided to let you go through with you plan to examine the Elements of Harmony in greater detail. I must admit to being curious, as you are, as to the reason why the Elements worked differently upon Nightmare Moon for you and your friends than they did for I, yet both Luna and I wielding the Elements achieved the same effect that you and your friends did with your recent ordeal with Discord. I have my suspicions, of course, but it would be good to formally examine them.
“I do, however, have one small requirement: I wish to be there with you! In light of recent events, I fear we haven’t spent as much time together as teacher and student as we used to, and I would hate to think of us as beginning to drift apart. Therefore, I have cleared my schedule for this Tuesday, and look forward to spending the day with you.
“Your loving mentor,
“Celestia.”
Twilight again read the letter that her number-one assistant, Spike, had handed to her. Then she read it a third time, then a fourth. On her fifth read-through, some distant part of her brain noted that the baby dragon had noticed the look on her face, shot off, and returned wearing a pair of pillows and a hoofball helmet for protection. This part of her brain, however, was not in contact with the rest.
Thus:
“Spiiiiiiiiike!”

Especially Epcot. Epcot is amazing. And has the BEST fireworks show out of all the parks IMO.
Don't forget that The Magic Kingdom isn't the only park in Disney World.
And they are EVERY NIGHT.
That's assuming you aren't staying at one of the big time hotels, which are distracting enough in their own right.
If we don't get pictures of you dressed as a Disney princess, I'll be very disappointed.
I hope you have fun on your trip! But don't trust the mascots! they smile so much they must be up to something
Looks great I tend to imagine Celestia already understands the elements but it's a pretty debatable assertion on my part. and I love the idea of her and Twilight studying them together, the letters was great, I can' wait to see what you come out with! and poor Twilight is stuck between fear/joy at the presence of her beloved mentor, can't wait!
Advice: Forget writing ponies for a few days. Immerse yourself in the child-like joy that is Disney, wallow about like a kid in Wonka-Land, like Twilight Sparkle in the National Archives, like Trixie at Carnegie Hall. And you gotta see the Tiki Room, the fireworks, the Haunted Mansion, et al.... Leave the park when they chase you out, and be at the gates when they re-open. Embrace your inner eight year old. You will never in the next ten years utter the words "I wish I had written more ponies when I was at DisneyWorld"
I did the "Walking with Walt" tour at DisneyLand back a few years ago, and never regretted it for a moment, but I'm a Disney Geek. I have three phrases in my life: "Gee that's neat." "How does that work?" and "Oops, I can't put it back together again. Sorry." Their tours help with the second phrase, and they won't let you take things apart, so you don't have to worry about the third

Ooh, have fun at Disney. I went there with my family some years back and it was a blast. By far the most amazing them park experience I've ever had.
Also, I'm impressed with you dedication to getting Crisis up. I'd sort of been expecting for you to take some time off after Gala, if only to decompress and clear your head, but I can also understand how you might want to instead dive headlong into writing this hopefully more enjoyable fic right away.
I expect souvenirs!

Remember to take the monorail and the boat they have at the Magic Kingdom. Keep a map handy at ALL times and try to keep knowledgeable of schedules. Have a great trip!
