On Chapter 43's progress and other stuff · 8:25am Mar 17th, 2013
On updates - deadline for my first research paper is on March 20. The second one is on March 23. Very little fan fiction writing going on while I run headlong into these deadlines. Some editing has been going on, however. BP chapters 1-3 have gotten plenty of polish thanks to q97randomguy. The next chapter has a Fluttershy section and Fluttershy poses the most problems for me (was that a shock?) so that may also affect its completion time.
On Equestria Girls - I've seen the artwork. I think it looks pretty bad. "Oh, Visiden, you haven't seen the show yet and you're already judging it!" Well, I'm not judging the show, I'm judging the artwork. The matchstick limbs, the vacant expressions, the department store mannequin poses that are supposed to be "girly"...not at all inviting. Certainly, I'll watch the first episode to gain a better impression, even though FiM's artwork intrigued me enough to see the first episode while EG's has, so far, repulsed me. That being said, if the first scene involves one of the mane six oversleeping and having to run out of the house with a piece of toast in her mouth, I am done right then and there.
On the new layout for the site - when I first noticed it, I thought someone had hacked into my account and fiddled with the settings. That was a rather frightful moment. It took a little getting used to but it's been convenient so far.

just remember, it's a non-canon spinoff show...it doesn't need to be watched

on the layout and equestria girls, people don't like change, which makes positive reactions rare, so it's always nice to see someone give new things a chance.
Always good to hear from you! Sorry to hear about all the papers, I'm also stuck with large amounts of homework, so I feel your pain. Take all the time you need for the next chapter, we can wait. As for editing, have you done the edits on BP chapters 1-3? Because I don't an updated modified date on them, though that could just be FiMfiction, I did notice one small word order problem in chapter three just recently:

As for Equestria Girls, I too agree that the artwork looks pretty bad, though more recent shots look a little bit better than previous ones at least, I'll watch the first few episodes to truly judge it's quality, though I may have apply your toast scene condition, just because it's so cliqued
On the subject of the new site layout, it's not bad, a little obtuse in places but otherwise perfectly useable, still like the old version better though
I agree with Equestiran girls... I'm worried that even if it IS a good show I won't want to watch it just because I really don't like the art style. I decided to give MLP a shot because I saw a bunch of pictures of the ponies and really REALLY loved the art... so here's hoping that the art improves/the show is good!
