Thanks to Chris, I've been thinking about writing style recently. What is a style? Do I have one? Do I have more than one? How can I tell? “Thinking really hard about these questions” doesn't seem like a good way to get answers, since my most common problem as a writer is that I don't communicate the ideas I mean to communicate.
My muse informs me that 1d4 SAN loss is like snapping your jaws closed around the pretty bubble that blew through the air to you from the bubble wand. It tastes of soap.
also seriously i'd love to know what you think of fugue state's new ending and if you want to do that and also have me continue to descend into gibbering lunacy that would be pretty ok too
I do believe congratulations are in order. But yes, that's a rather typical reaction the first time. As you do it more often, the shame becomes less prominent.
