Who wants a preview? · 1:56am Feb 22nd, 2013
So anyone wanna see a preview for the next part? Its at 15,000 words and not done yet. I haven't worked on it as much as I usually do since I did take about a month long break... but here. A scene I finished inspired me to draw it. This is directly from the next part and will be a scene in the story. Princesses get to meet strange and interesting creatures. Maybe Twilicorn will too?
The representatives who made the biggest impression on me, and quite possibly changed my life though, were the kirin from Neighpon. Or more specifically, the king and queen representatives of Ryuuma-kyu, an island off the coast of Neighpon that was populated by the rare and beautiful Equasian Kirin, a dragon and unicorn hybrid creature with a unicorn's magic and grace, and dragon's fierceness and strength, along with their long lifespans making the kirin of Ryuuma-kyu as ancient as the alicorns. Or perhaps even more so.
Notice the lack of horse puns? Nope, those are all Japanese horse puns. See if you can figure them out. But I do explain them in the story if you can't wait.
A pony dragon hybrid? Huh, I guess once you go dragon there's no going back.
I want the preview *^*
nice art c:
Ooh, dis gonna be good! I always do enjoy the introduction of new species and characters into stories. I caught the Nipon joke, but that's all. Guess I haven't watched enough anime or read enough about Japan to understand the rest of it.
ryuu=dragon uma=horse kyu=palace?
853874 right you are. Its also based on a real place in Japan. Okinawa (a tropical Island off the coast of Japan) was originally called 'Ryu-kyu' meaning dragon-island. You can see what I did to it.
That was the preview. Sorry if it was short.
853920 never knew Okinawa used to be named that, first i thought was something to do with ryuuguu-joo the dragon god palace in the Japanese folklore, but then i went to the kanji dictionary and found kyu could mean palace
Neighpon=Nipon=Japan...?
I know that one from Okami
Unless I got it wrong
853997 actually the write in roman letters would be Nippon because there is a pause between ni and pon an that is a very forcefull way of saying japan the most common way is nihon, sorry if i am being nerdy i just did my Japanese homework and this is still stuck in my head
TOSS me that preview NOW I need it to mentally hold me till the first "real" chapter is out.
AWW YEAH!! GETTING ALL KIRIN IN THIS STORY! Always nice to see our little dragon hybrid friends come into play. Would love to see them show up in the show... Also FOR THE GODDESS SAKE'S WHEN IS THIS COMEING OUT?! I loved IFL and have been waiting your next piece of work.
Hope to see it soon!
