    Story promo for a friend

Been ages since I've done a non-groups-related blog post type thing, but a good friend of mine recently put out a story and I figured he could use some more attention.

An idea I've had for a bit

This is the part where I whine about my personal life and how school/work/family/ice dancing lessons are cutting into my writing time and I'm really trying to get stuff done but why does life conspire against me so?

Dead Space 3 · 9:33pm Feb 10th, 2013

Great game. The first half (I think) I've had time to play, so far, at least. I applaud them for sticking to a formula that isn't broken and thus doesn't need fixing (the games all feel identical, and I love it) and yet managing to slide in innovation here and there so they don't get slapped with the (somewhat deserved) Call of Duty stigma. Good stuff, good stuff.

Also, this:

Got me thinking - I'm sure there have been Dead Space crossovers, but... anybody read any that were good? I think it could be a pretty cool story, done properly. As long as it didn't degenerate into a clone of the games and just talk about shooting necromorphs all the time. Just a curiosity of mine, I suppose.

Ah, Dead Space 3. Beaten it twice, now I'm diverting into two of the three special modes, wish I could find another person who plays it on PC that I could coop with.

Double chaingun is orgasmically fun.

Assault rifle and get-the-fuck-away-from-me combo is best gun.

I squee'd. Oh, how I squee'd.

CEC engineer Isaac Clark is best CEC engineer. Luna is neck-and-neck. Luna with a gun of awesome is ^__________^

All others are DEAD.

I fucked up and bought it for PS3 because, to be honest, I didn't even know they were making a third one until I saw it on the store rack. Panicked and ran to the checkout line without stopping and thinking "wait a minute, my fat-model PS3 is going to explode trying to run this, and PC gaming is more fun anyway - I should get it for that, instead!" and, $60 later, I was right. :ajsleepy:

Sucks, too, since at first when another friend of mine offered to co-op, I recited my standard "nah, I really don't like multiplayer games, so even if I'd bought the right version I wouldn't take you up on that," but...after playing... I actually would get a kick out of co-op.

I kind of wish it was like Kane + Lynch, though, where Isaac and Carver are always together and the only thing that changes is whether or not he's controlled by bot or by human. Having them split up and leaving you to solo the levels... maybe I'm just terrible at this type of game, but even on casual difficulty I'm struggling in certain parts. Probably because I'm more interested in the story than the gameplay, which is the case with every game ever. I don't have the patience to sit and micromanage my weapons and ammo and inventory.

But, yeah, it's a great game. I'm enjoying it so far.

Well, Elli Langford... 'course, she's not an engineer, she's a heavy equipment pilot.

I'm a Dead Space pro and that was true for me too. Then I discovered the virtues of the good old-fashioned military engine and smiles were had all around. Well, that and the telemetry spike engine with torus differential tips. *giggles in a psychopathic manner as I hug my double-chaingun*

I don't have the patience to sit and micromanage my weapons and ammo and inventory.

Then you, sir, are going to have a really tough time. Fine-tuning your weapons to the game is a vital component of success. Without the discovery of the military engine/rail accelerator (top) + plasma engine/default (bottom), I'd have never pulled off a twofer.

But, yeah, it's a great game. I'm enjoying it so far.

As am I. ^_^ Visceral is full of win and awesome.

Great game, beat it five times, got the devil's horns, and now I just go into other people's games and play with them. really wish some one would make a good crossover. and i cant wait to get the awakened dlc.
