Sarah Jane Smith-how would YOU get her into Equestria with Doctor Whooves? · 7:58am Jan 17th, 2013
Been thinking a bit about Doctor Who, what with the fiftieth anniversary coming up and just generally loving the show. So, most of us know of that certain earth pony with the hourglass-cutie mark and the ragged mane. But, as with most franchises I'm a fan of, it's not the lead who is my favorite character, but one of the side-characters...
So, a question. How would you get Sarah Jane to Equestria? Have the TARDIS land in a certain attic at 13 Bannerman Road? Sarah Jane gets transmatted to Equestria? Would she be a pony? How would the Doc react?
Note, this isn't for the Hasbroverse or anything. Just... thinking a bit.
I guess it would partly depend on which point in her timeline you're grabbing her from. I'd probably say some kind of weirdness at Cardiff. Or, you don't even have to 'get her in', just have her be the native-Equestrian, parallel-universe-counterpart of 'our' Sarah Jane.
Well, based on the new series, I'd probably blame Cardiff. If the Doc gets regenerated as a pony in Equestria, it might be heartwarming to have him meet the pony version of Good Ol' Sarah Jane.
AU counterpart if she's a pony, keep her human if she's the original. It is one thing to have a Timelord change genders or turn into a quadruped due to regeneration, but the average HiE story that turns a human into a pony just because "You're in Equestria now, therefore you are now an Equestrian", makes me want to punch the author in the face.
...having them die in order to appear in Equestria makes me want to punch them further down on their anatomy instead. Sure, it can be done well, but Stergen's (sp?) Law is exceptionally prevalent here. In fact, it needs to be applied twice. "90% is crap, and of the remaining 10%, 90% of THAT just isn't all that great either."
720193 The average HiE is also a bunch is SI fics and not an already fictional character being sent to Equestria. With all the weirdness seen in Doctor Who it wouldn't be that far fetched from a human to be sent across the cosmos and turned into a native. That being said it should be somewhat believable.
720193 I rule it as Magic shenanigans.
Possibly a "Human's can't exist in Equestria" due to the laws of THAT reality thus they are made into what can exist there.
Not a real stretch for Dr Who, and its already understood that Equestria has different rules of reality.
I am was a fan of the web comic Accidental Centaurs and they use a similar explanation.
But yes bad self inserts make it that plot device a lot more difficult to stomach.
It would be interesting to see. ^^
Why, she gets an invitation to the wedding of a certain blonde Pegasus mare to her coltfriend who happens to be an Earth Pony with an hourglass Cutie Mark.
Of course, it's the mare who sent it and picks her up in the TARDIS.
It would have to be the Tardis, maybe to save her from the daleks.

The weeping angels would be cooler, in a way. But I dont have a pic of them, so we'll go with odd metal things trying to exterminate the ponies. (starting w/ Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon )
Then we can see The Dr try explain them to the Princesses and Sarah Jane Smith to Derpy.
