So close, and yet so fa- · 4:38am Jan 10th, 2013
Ha, no. It's pretty freakin' close.
I am of course referring to both the completion of my story and the day I am scheduled to leave ("completion" here meaning a chapter that doesn't leave you fine folk on a cliffhanger the size of Texas). I believe a few all-nighters are in order. Understand, this is something I do not normally do, as it shoots my creativity and motivation right down the crapper. If y'all can pray to your respective deities on my behalf (God, Allah, Buddha, Spongebob, and Carl Sagan are all eligible for this exercise), I would be mighty grateful. If you could, please mention strength, endurance, inspiration, and the swift action of ingested caffeine (which is, by the way, the absolute worst substance in the world). If praying isn't your thing, wishing luck is perfectly acceptable.
In any case, there are two or three chapters left. One of them is almost done, the other two have yet to be written. Thought I should let all y'all know the situation, and the fact that I'm doing the best I can to, as a dear friend of mine accurately described, "not suck".
You know, I really shouldn't be blogging under the effects of sleep deprivation. Ahhh, I'm just gonna delete this oh no my mouse is heading towards the post button NO MOUSE NOOOOO
And apparently, sleep deprivation not only makes me post stupid things, but increases the frequency of which I use parenthesis, and makes me sound unabashedly southern. "Y'all"? "The size of Texas"? Wut?
Believe me, I can relate to being sleep deprived, what with school again and all.
Advanced Placement classes, why you do this to me??
Anyways, good luck with the rest!
Cheers!

EDIT: I say y'all all the time! I'm Texan! But I'm not a cowboy. You would not believe how many people think that just because I live in Texas, I ride a horse to school every day.
...you poor creature... ummmm... maybe you should get to bed and get some sleep? ...maybe? Please, while I love getting updates from this and would love a non-cliff hanger stop please please please don't kill yourself over it alright?
Do try to enjoy yourself!
...and get to bed! Or you might end up crazier than Pinkie after a party of one!
I'll pray to Tyche that you pull it off... seems appropriate
Know that your efforts are really appreaciated, but try to not hurt yourself in the process of "completing" this awesome story.
The best of lucks, and I salute you fellow writer. a2.twimg.com/profile_images/1479756838/rainbow_dash_salute_iphone_by_aarocka-d3iv1zn_reasonably_small.png
I would crash under this kind of deadline presure.

Haha, it's fine, mate. When I'm sleep deprived is probably when I'm most motivated to write.
I do say "y'all" plenty just for the heck of it sometimes, but not in actual speech. Well, my dad's from Georgia anyway. Doesn't have the accent anymore though.
And yes, I like saying "mate" even though I'm not Australian by a long shot.
I do hope to read your fanfic soon, but I appear to be busy with Filly Gamez work, insomnia, and the start of classes...so I'm not sure when. I will try to get you some moose references drawn if I can before you leave. Otherwise, maybe I'll just draw up a really detailed month-long drawing and hope you like it when you get back.

I actually do say "y'all" occasionally, but it's not really a habit (and certainly not part of the "Montana" dialect). I do know what you mean about the horse thing, though. I mean jeez, we're not uncivilized pigs! I only ride my horse to school on Fridays.

I say "Dunno, mate" like it's a common phrase, or something. Is it? I don't think so.
Also, you silly pony, you don't have to do anything for me! Celestia is sitting right here on my desk, and keeps reminding me it is I who should be doing something for you. Had I the time, I would probably utilize my one and only talent to write you a one-shot with the prompt of your choosing in return, or something. Authors do that, right? Dunno, mate.
(Also, she is a princess. Are you a princess, too? Am I? Is everybody a princess?)

Man, you have no idea. I was expecting at least a few more months than I got. I opened up my mission call and was like "January 16th, 2013. That's a whole year away! I got this, no problem!"
"What? A year? Uh, no."
"But it says 2013..."
"That's in two and a half months. You know... New Year's?"
" ...Well okay then."
696022 Ahaha, omg. I'm dying of laughter right now That, sir, was hilarious. I praise you for your internet funnies.
Yup, Fridays are definitely horse days.
Just out of curiosity, what are common sayings in Montana?
good luck on your endeavors Sir Moose.
May the gods smile fortune upon thee on thy quest, and may Tyche take special interest on you these days

I don't think it's a common phrase. Ah well, I'm going to be learning an Australian accent & colloquialisms/slang at some point anyway. Going to need a lot of it for one of my next fanfics, which'll be pretty entertaining to write. Think of an Australian Scriber. I doubt you know him, but he's an interesting character. Has some colorful language, if you read the Google doc I linked you.
How close are you to finishing this story, by the way? Haven't started reading yet, but at least you don't have a cliffhanger the size of Alaska.
I might be able to break my habit of perfectionism, at least when it comes to drawing, and sketch up those references before you leave.
I really don't expect anything in return, mate. I feel guilty accepting pony merchandise as gifts from people in the first place. Your one and only talent? Ah, come on, I'm sure you have plenty of talents. I only really started drawing about 4-5 years ago, and got into digital art a little over a year ago. But I'm not that great.
If you really wanted, sure, you could write a one-shot. I'd have no idea what I'd want you to write though, so I would just say "Go for it!"
You are a princess.

Truth be told, despite its tiny population, Montana has a pretty average mix of people. Not very ethnically diverse, mind you, but most everybody speaks with a fairly average American accent, and as far as I know, there aren't any Montanan sayings. Not that come to mind right now, anyways. But you know what they say, cows can lick posts but mahogany is off limits. (I made that up. Or did I? Yes, I did.)
The only thing really worthy of note is that here, lots of people seem to be the outdoorsy type. In many cases, that's why people decide they want to live here; the land is vast, uncrowded, isolated, the winters are long, and the snowboarding is awesome. I personally like it... can you tell?
696135
Well, like I said, I have one chapter nearly completed (it stands at about 15,000 words currently) and two more after it, both of which will probably add up to be something similar. ...Yeesh, that's a lot of work.
And I knew it, I am a princess! I'm going to tell Celestia right away!
695822
P.S. You don't know how much I like this comment. It's a lot. A lot is how much I like it.
I may have read this wrong due to lack of sleep, but are you saying your almost done with A Stranger and her Friend?
696139 I thought it would be better to pray to the deity of luck than to just wish you it. I'm surprised I was the first to do so.
696139 Don't you ever get cold? I'm down here in Texas and I'm freezing
Although I wish I went somewhere winter-y this winter break. I haven't gone skiing in a while...
696265
In a manner of speaking. I am almost done with what will be "part one" of TSaHF. This may or may not actually happen, however, due to severe time constraints.
696569
I love the cold! Or rather, I just don't feel it anymore – like, it's just comfortable weather. Anything above 70 degrees makes me sweat like a pig.
On that note, can't wait for my mission to New Mexico!
My sleep deprivation comes from the night time news collection on Equestria Daily, so I have to wake up at a little after midnight in order to know what's going on around the world.
696944 Just think of the 115-120 degree weather we've had in TX this past summer!
Anyways, have fun in NM!
