Happy 2013! We didn't die in a sea of holy Mayan fire, so we've got some room to breathe while the crazies cook up another doomsday prophecy. Next one I know of for certain is set to occur in 2038, and it's not so much an apocalypse as a sort of Y2K rehash which actually makes sense; the basic calendar software most of the world uses calculates dates by counting the number of seconds elapsed since a specific date long long ago. It's only got a set number of digit places, and on some date in 2038 which I'm too lazy to Wiki myself, it'll max out at all 1's and then reset to all 0's the following second, meaning all the digital calendars in the world which use that software method will revert to like 1900 or some shit.

Also I played a game of StarCraft Risk today which spanned two years. We started at 6pm and finished up around 1am, with the only major pause in the action being to watch the ball drop. Came down to me with my massive army of awesomeness acquired from six and a half hours of strategic, calculated gameplay and a friend's "mobile rape force" of 30+ marines and a hero unit which wandered the map kicking ass and taking names until the only thing left to fight was me. I won, but it was a Pyrrhic victory as I only had 3 units left at that point. I kind of wanted to lose, too, since it would have been hilariously ironic to have the game go to the guy who spent hours silently building up troops before launching his army and conquering an entire planet in a single turn. Good game. Everyone played admirably and it was a fantastic way to end the year.
Tried to write today and finish up the rewrite of US's third chapter before the year ended, but that failed because StarCraft Risk. Gotta have priorities, amirite?

675567 I hate Farming Simulator. It put a gun to my head and made me stay up until 5:00. I wanted to go to sleep at 1:00 so I'd be awake to do stuff today, but it say no, no, no. Also apparently the base-model forage wagon can't dump straw into the cow pen, and that is some bullshit. $90,000 wasted spectacularly.
I desperately want to write, but I can't even focus on characters or plot right now because I'm tired.
