Have any of y'all read Austreogh? · 1:07am Dec 27th, 2012

Okay, peeps, I need some help. I just hit the halfway point, and I'm loving this story, and I want to keep reading, but i NEED one of yall to answer a question for me:

The sequel, in the description, says, "Rainbow Dash Continues to fly east." Now, Knowing the author well enough, tell me this: does this story have a non-ending? Like, am I going to read for 200 chapters, just to see Dash not accomplish her goal and still not have any firm answers and the world still sucks but at least she learned about herself but that doesn't hep the rest of the world and You-Know-Who is still inside her so really nothing was accomplished besides character growth and all the usual things that make me unable to enjoy Short Skirts A—er, I mean, Imploding Colon's more famous stories?

Granted, "Flying East" could be a metaphor for running from her past, so it MIGHT just mean her regrets. But I want to know if I should continue to invest my time, knowing that the ending is just going to piss me off and leave me unfulfilled. For real, that is my biggest gripe about SSnImploding Colon's work, his penchant for non-endings, i.e., "Well everyone is still DEAD, but hey, at lest this pony learned something about herself!" I see that where the big pressing issue isn't resolved and everyone is okay with that, and I rage for days.

I'm not asking for spoilers, just tell me if the story ends properly. Thanks, y'all!

Saying pretty much anything is a spoiler. You could stop reading the saga at the end of Austraeoh, but you would be denying yourself an awesome ride.

And that right there tell me no, she doesn't accomplish what she set out to do, or what we've been told fro 125 chapters she set out to do.

I highly recomend you keep reading it. When Austraeoh first started showing up on my radar I wasn't sure it was ever going to have any sort of ending, at all. The entire fix is all about the journey, almost nothing about the destination. For the full experience replicated, be sure to read the comments, especially in the laster quarter, or so, of the story.

Grr... again, I WANT to keep reading, but that's exactly my problem! I get that the journey can be just as rewarding as the destination, maybe even better. Hell, look at an Aristocrats joke! But, when there isn't a destination at ALL?! I get that SSnE likes to do that, a great trip to a bleh place, but I hate it! You CAN'T build me up with this, admittedly, amazing writing, pacing, story-telling... hell everything at this point, just to drop me off with NOTHING to show for it! It's like an hour of foreplay, then she gets a headache.

Yes, it's the literary version of Blue Balls.

What chapter are you on, 100? Austraeoh has three major arcs, the literary payoff is in those arcs. I sent you a quick PM if you want more nitty-gritty details. The better way to think of this saga is just that, a saga. It's like Star Trek, and each arc is a season. The Midnight Armory is a concept more than an actual place, it's the same thing as "getting back to Earth" in Star Trek: Voyager.
