Did two things this past weekend... · 3:58pm May 13th
First, I ran 10k for the first time in two months after laying off that long to let my ankle bursitis subside, trying to allow the area to generally heal up. It appears that it worked. To my delight, there was no ankle pain after and I hadn’t even lost much stamina thanks to hitting an elliptical machine twice a week for an hour instead of jogging. My upper legs are another matter, though. They’re sore as hell. But I’ll take it.
The second thing was that I started into the promised campaign and battle maps for the new C&C chapter. After about twenty hours of work in Photoshop, I more or less finished the base map. So here’s the first ever continental map of Aresia showing the Griffon Kingdom and its immediate neighbors:

That’s just the base map, and I’ll probably end up adding a bit more before all is said and done, including things like a map key, territorial boundaries and major military bases. Lots of work remains even aside from that, as I have to make things like unit icons for both sides (thank god I already more or less did griffon ones for Firefly!) and overlays showing the progress of the invasion and the Kingdom’s response as the War Council briefing proceeds. There will also be a close up of Aricia and its surroundings I have yet to start for when they start discussing the local situation.
All this will probably take a couple weeks to finish. But the good news is that even without the graphics, the chapter is very popular thus far with prereaders. I’ll likely end up tweaking the chapter as well to more closely match what’s on the map, and I may well end up introducing some retcons to earlier in the story to make it synch up with the new map as well. But let me worry about that. Just wanted to give everyone an update and let you know that things are proceeding just fine.

personally I probably wait and finish "Into the Storm first" and then maybe reread the Featherred Hearts then, as I already kinda forgotten what happpened over time
so when I get back, I may actually have even more than one chapter :-)
