Hating on Bronies · 3:44pm April 27th
This is going to be a rather short blog. There will also be cursing here, so please be advised.
You know, part of me is somehow a bit glad that G5 of MLP didn't end up getting as popular as G4, because holy fucking shit, the amount of people who just despise bronies as if we were the very icon of evil incarnate itself seems to still be relatively high, and I can't imagine how bad the situation would be if the franchise was once again as popular as it used to be.
Like, there exist content creators who regularly make hating on bronies the backbone of their jokes and attempts at entertainment. Get it? "Hey, my viewers, look at this general group of people! What fucking miserable, pathetic, evil losers who are barely even human beings because of how shit their interests are! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Oh my god, what a great joke, I'm truly a comedy god!"
Naturally, noone ever said precisely that. And, well, I realize how much I'm exaggerating here; I apologise, but as is likely apparent, I'm simply upset.
Have I mentioned yet how much I dislike the practice of trying to gain popularity by hating on everything? Well, it's sadly also a very popular one, and bronies are super easy to despise.
And... just let me end this with a stupid anectodal evidence, which is very much an example of a cognitive bias. Feel free to disregard it completely as I do acknowledge it basically means nothing, but as a trans person, in most cases it feels significantly harder for me to come out as a pegasister than it does to reveal my trans status. Yes, really.
Sorry for this. I'm just angry. May delete this blog in a few days or so, I dunno yet.
Many of us feel the same way. I know I can't tell most people I know that I like let alone love mlp g4. I agree that there is too many haters out there and it's way to popular as well.
I just can't believe that so many people still hate this show. Like, why? This show's awesome, and G5 might be a bit meh, sure, but it's still neat! Do they think someone's gonna applaud them for hating it, and attacking members of its community? The answer is no, because that's called 'being a terrible person for no reason, who's not worth the time, nor effort, to acknowledge'.
