Equestria Girls Idea and Extra Updates

As I type this, two months have passed since I brought an end to The End of an Era. Wow, those flew by indeed. To this day, I stand by most of what I did for that rewrite story, and I hope it shall continue to be enjoyed in the year still to come. Thank you very much for the read.

    February Acknowledgments

As of today, it has been a whole month since I wrapped up The End of an Era (Series Finale Rewritten). I want to say that while I'm (mostly) content with what I wrote (and modified) for that story, and I've voiced the multitude of complaints I have with The Ending of the End, the episode it's based on, in the Author's Notes, I still feel like after all these years, I need to construct a single

    Further Future Details

Greetings again, readers! I decided to make a blog post elaborating on some of my future plans for My Little Pony storytelling, some current activity and a few thoughts I've developed in long time I've spent making The End of an Era. I hope I don't keep you here for too much time.

New Year's Begun, Old Story's Done

I've been aware of this for over a month now, but I wanted to bring the series finale rewrite to completion before I drew extra attention to it, because I was waiting for it to represent the story in it's finished form. As I mentioned in passing in the epilogue's Author's Notes, somebody out there created a TV Tropes page for The

The Update Before Christmas: G5 Rewritten

Christmas is approaching fast, and what I'm hoping, aiming and certain to bring to you soon, followers, is the end of The End of an Era, marking the conclusion of my Friendship is Magic series finale rewrite, the biggest project I've tackled and brought this far. Chapter 16 (Part 4 - Chapter 4) will be the last to cover my overhaul of The Ending of the End, and after that, an epilogue will

Equestria Girls Idea and Extra Updates · 7:09am March 12th

As I type this, two months have passed since I brought an end to The End of an Era. Wow, those flew by indeed. To this day, I stand by most of what I did for that rewrite story, and I hope it shall continue to be enjoyed in the year still to come. Thank you very much for the read.

Just a quick word on Re-Make Your Mark: I've had an idea for a G1 My Little Pony villain revival in my reimagined G5 canon. Someone to serve as the main antagonist of the arc to follow the Opaline Arc. Which villain do I have in mind?

Catrina, the bipedal cat witch from Escape from Catrina. For now, I can tell you that she will be taking Allura's place, but have a different kind of villainous personality, while Allura will be demoted to her loyal pet.

Before I get to the biggest update, there's one detail I want to add about the first Chapter of the Opaline arc. During the episode where earth ponies are feeling unfairly overshadowed by pegasus flight and unicorn magic, Sunny shall be led back to Argyle's studies on Ancient Equestria to decipher the workings of the magic earth ponies were supposed to have. I think I'll move the "message from the past" idea to a later story, and add one about pegasi and unicorns getting some training on how to fly and cast magic to set up the "lack of fairness" conflict. 2 more makes 8 episodes.

Between my finished project and this next large project I want to tackle someday, there's a smaller story I've had on my mind for many years now, relating to Equestria Girls. I've contemplated making it a short April Fools' one-shot, but it's been growing on me as something that could be expanded into a full story. I want to do a reimagining of Equestria Girls, where I picture it as a feature-length anime that depicts the human world closer to real life (though set in a fictitious city), none of the Earth-born characters ever get to possess magical powers, only the one that comes from the alternate dimension where Equestria exists, and the story focuses on high school youth drama and the high danger of fictional powers crossing over into reality. Something to commemorate the upcoming 10th anniversary of Rainbow Rocks. Let me present you a taste of what could be expected:

One night, a teenage girl with red and yellow hair, named Sheena Summers, appears in the wilderness, terrified by the environment she has found herself in. Making her way to Neighbourwen High School, she runs into five kids her age, one happening to be a life-long cartoon and comic fan, who are all connected through a friendship that they called off years ago. Questions and tension are raised when Sheena claims to hail from Equestria, and her presence on Earth, through an ill-gotten form of energy, seemingly endangers the entire city; possibly even the whole world.

The stand-ins for Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash in this story are the following:

Alexa Jane Sanders: a farmer whom became jaded on the concept of friendship, seeing it as no less of a setup for imminent heartbreak as adopting a pet.

Pashmina Jackson: a life-time fan of cartoon shows and comic books, especially ones about ponies, whose mental maturity has been stunted since the age of 6.

Rosalie Walters: a wealthy daughter of restaurant entrepreneurs whom is the cool, charismatic queen bee of the social circle at Neighbourwen High School.

Fatima Gales: an animal whisperer whose past is so riddled with unintentionally hurting people with her words, she swore to never speak to human beings again.

Raine Matthews: a hedonistic motorcyclist by night and somnolent layabout by day, they have no family and were quick to choose material gain over friends in need.

And that's about it. Not much more to say, besides that Rainbow Rocks is the mountain peak My Little Pony movie to this day, and The Ending of the End still sucks in hindsight, G5 should've had a few more years in the kitchen to prepare Make Your Mark after A New Generation.

Here be Stache Hand the Clutcher, out and about!

Mmm Catrina is a good character, although it feels somewhat forced to include her in G5, it's just my opinion.

As for the context of the story, the direction you set for the characters feels well thought out.

On the other hand, about EG... well, she is not the branch of the franchise that excites me the most. But introducing new characters who seek to learn more about how mysterious magic interacts with their world is interesting. Kind of like Scoby-Do chasing down rumors of pony sightings...haha fun.
