As of today, it has been a whole month since I wrapped up The End of an Era (Series Finale Rewritten). I want to say that while I'm (mostly) content with what I wrote (and modified) for that story, and I've voiced the multitude of complaints I have with The Ending of the End, the episode it's based on, in the Author's Notes, I still feel like after all these years, I need to construct a single place to put all of what I've said together and convey my full feelings of that two-parter in one, complete blast. The Friendship is Magic finale will have it's 5th anniversary this October, so consider that my celebration of it. Or rather, what I will attach it to. I want to show you all my Top 16 List for my Detested MLP:FiM Episodes, followed by my Top 16 Favourite MLP:FiM Episodes, in commemoration of it being a half-decade's worth of time since the show concluded. There will be Chaos.
Oh yeah, and at a later date, I plan to upload The End of an Era to Archive of Our Own, now that I have an account there. After 2+ years of work, It'd be good to expand the reach and visibility of the story.
Since the very beginning of this month, I have been 30 years old. Yep, 3 decades, ladies and gentlemen! I had a succulent steak dinner on my birthday, and my next plan (as of this writing) is to visit a gamers' café with the family. I'm counting down the days.
For the end of this post, I want to expound something about Re-Make Your Mark. I won't be getting to it for a long time, and I only have the roughest ideas for it right now, so... what are those rough ideas?
Simple. Chapter 1 would start off shortly after the end of A New Generation, and would be about crafting the status quo for Chapters 2 and onward, starting from the bottom. I'll call it Maretime Moving. As for Episode premises...
Episode 1: Sunny crashes at Hitch's place while they figure out rebuilding the lighthouse, and Phyllis needs to gather the courage to tell her son, Sprout, how terrible of a sheriff he was.
Episode 2: Izzy moves everything in her house in Bridlewood to Sunny's lighthouse home, but Maretime Bay could use her help in repurposing all of the unicorn traps scattered across town.
Episode 3: Queen Novo, booted from the throne, comes face-to-face with a pegasus running for King of Zephyr Heights, and Zipp Storm must decide if she's ready to take her mother's place.
Episode 4: Pipp Petals, having moved to Maretime Bay, opens up a karaoke hair salon to share her music and grow her social media empire, and her charisma may save two jobless ponies.
Episode 5: Hitch discovers a mysterious giant egg in one of his critter friends' nests, and it soon hatches to reveal a baby dragon, a species thought to no longer exist, with cold fire in his belly.
Episode 6: The earth ponies, including Hitch, feel at a disadvantage with the pegasi flying and the unicorns using telekinesis, which leads to a magical evolution and the unearthing of a message from Equestria's distant past.
And, that's it. One of these days, we'll see how I develop these.
Here be Stache Hand the Clutcher, out and about!
Episode 6 is the only one that makes me distrustful. All the others seem like good premises to me.
