Overview.
Ponies are the most dominant race on Equis thanks mostly to their alicorn princess Celestia who controls the sun and moon. There are rumors she once had a sister who ruled the moon however that information has not to be confirmed.
Recently a new Alicorn princess of love, Mia Amore Cadenza, was revealed to the world.
There are three main pony tribes with various offshoots or variations with the three primary being; Earth, Pegasus, and Unicorn with Alicorns having the traits of every pony tribe.
Alicorns.
Their powers are not fully understood however they are the rulers of pony kind and possess the powers of every tribe. They are ageless and some say immortal though this hasn’t been confirmed.

Earth.
Earth ponies are the strongest and have the highest endurance out of the three primary tribes. Their talents typically involve working with, you guessed it, the Earth.
Many are able to farm food with harvests three to four times in magnitude than others using the same land and even have the ability to farm minerals and gems.
A subset of the Earth Ponies, are rumored to even have the ability to farm magical crystals yet little else is known.
Earth ponies typically live the longest on average reaching healthy ages of 120 easily with modern medicine and rounded diet and exercise.

Pegasus.
Pegasus or Pegasi are the most graceful, fastest and combative of the tribes. In the old days they were mighty warriors who now compete through races and other feats.
They are able to manipulate the weather, shoot lightning, and even break the sound barrier.
Their offshoot, the Lunar Pegasi or Thestrals. Are even more nimble with bat like wings and able to see in the dark with echo location. Thestrals tend to keep to their own community and are rarely seen outside of Canterlot if at all.
Never call them Bat Ponies unless you’re a close friend!
Pegasi can also reach ages of 120 but due to their high flying lifestyles the average is much lower for the population.

Unicorns.
Unicorns are the most in tune with active magic but it typically comes at a cost to their physical prowess. Most unicorns will never outperform their fellow tribesmen in physical tasks however using magic they are able to make the most complex art and mechanical works.
Tending to be scholarly, unicorns have taken many of the top business and noble positions of the land much to the grumbling of the other two tribes.
Their offshoots include the Kirin who are half pony half dragon. If rumors are to be believed they also possess a second form, Niriks, or fire ponies.
Unicorns typically only live to be 100 without magical intervention. Some of the powerful unicorns have lived well into the 200s as their magic provided longevity.

Eustress
Ponies typically experience this cycle for one week during the month of March. The week varies between locations and not every mare goes through this if they recently gave birth or other factors.
Ponies are typically only fertile during this time period without external intervention and will give birth eleven months later in February of the next year right after winter.
These periods of mass births have resulted in ponies not often celebrating birthdays each year. Instead having major holidays such as ‘Hearts and Hooves day’ to find a mate before the season or ‘Foals day’ to celebrate all the younger ponies. (Pinkie pie is an exception to the rule.)
The Cute-ceañera is also a celebration for young fillies who get their mark and is a sign of maturity. Not everypony has the party exactly when a mark is acquired but when a young filly understands her mark.
Oh. Oh man. Some of those spoilers are quite interesting if they are actually going to show up in your story.
Heartbreaker is good and all. But it feels redundant with Daybreaker. I would change it to something different like Heartstopper, Shadowheart, Ebonheart, Malevolent Muse, Sinister Siren, Abyssal Empress, Midnight Enchantress, Ravenous Rose
You know, so it will not be so bland. I think they should be distinguish even with names.

Well now it depends on planned behaviour. I guess for example Heartstopper would behave different than Decadence, as name implies. Now I am curious what author will do.
Hmm so kirin and threstal are offshoots? NGL hippogriff sound more like an offshoots of pegasus's the thestal.
Thestal seem to fit more into it's own thing but fair. Hope the half pony half dragon will actually come into play.
Where do the crystal pony's come in here?
Interesting take on their powers glad the other two also get their own brand of magic(especially the earth ponies).
why Luna has no second part to her name while Celestia does? Nocturne seem fitting

Love the name for Luna it’s in. Also Hippogriffs will be in the sub set of griffins as they are closer together as for crystal they are a sub of earth ponies.

Fair, Hippogriff size does get them more to horses since most of them are as tall or taller then Celestia.
I remember Being a crystal unicorn , so don't know how that be for them being an offshoot of earth ponies.
Will thestal have access to shadow magic of NM? It seems fitting for them
Actually just noticed it but why is their Lighting-manipulation??? (I presume you mean lightning) on pegasus part?
Because if it lightning then that wrong, pegasus can cause weather phenomenons and lightning strike is one of them 🌩️. They can't manipulate actual lightning/electricity ⚡ ⚡ like fantasy mages can, that's more dragon territory or actual mages.

It is a Very rare ability from their warrior days and the warring of the three tribes. Most can’t just summon lightning they would need to bend it from an existing source. Forest Breeze is just exceptionally powerful.

Those would be considered Equines not exactly Ponies. I’ll be doing another world building for Equines next.
Filly is a female term for young foal/calf. Colt is the male equivalent.
