    Time ghost

MLP:FiM came out 14 years ago.

I first used the internet in 1996.

I don't know exactly when, but sometime soon we will hit the point where MLP has been part of the internet for literally half the time it's existed in my life.

    Across the generations

Something happened earlier this week that got me thinking.

Even though I have all of G4 on my computer and can watch any part of it any time I wish, back on monday on a whim I clicked on the official MLP stream on youtube. I found myself dropped into the middle of Magical Mystery Cure, just before A True True Friend started playing, and I watched through to the end of the episode.

sorry to hear you'll have to buy a new house :C

Gonna hire contractors to renovate the entire apartment just to have an excuse to replace the light fixtures with ones that make sense.

Definitely the best solution methinks.

Oh, I saw this lifehack on Taskmaster the other day. What you want is something with a suction cup, like these toothbrushes for children:

Or anything else with a small suction cup from your bathroom. You plop that on the flat part of the broken lightbulb and you can pull it right out.

Honestly it had not occurred to me that it could be possible to just pull them straight out. Given that there was zero space to grip them that seems like a terrible design choice. But wouldn't you know it, that's exactly what it was. The suction cup didn't work, but I managed with my fingers.

In fact it was SUCH a terrible design choice that two of the bulbs flat out broke clean off at the base in the process. But I managed to get them out. Not sure it was worth the bother, given that I now distrust this light fixture so much that I want to replace the whole thing rather than just the bulbs :ajbemused: But now at least I have the option.

an electrician could replace the whole thing easily. Yourself potentially as well. if you know te breaker for the power to it. just unscrew the whole thing from the ceiling and put in a new light fixture. There should be only two or three wires you would have to deal with at the minimum. Two to four screws holding the base plate to the gang box in the ceiling. It surprisingly straightforward.
