A Belated Birthday and Health News · 3:01pm Sep 20th, 2023
I've turned 37 and I had a pretty good birthday event, but it's kind of been hampered by the fact that, as of four days ago, not only do I seem to be having issues with my bowel movements, but I've got a UTI on top of that. Three nights of scant hours sleep will make you a sourpuss in the morning if you're not used to it and I stopped being used to it after college slapped me silly.
One out of four days of bowel movements (that don't include gas, which I've had PLENTY) of, plus a UTI that's driving me to pee five minutes after I drink, plus my 'Lady's Day' supposedly being today and not showing up, plus getting stabbed in both my arms because the first try was a bust due to my UTI juicing me like an orange, plus two different doctors who say the same thing equals me being stress ball who can't seem to focus for beans and has a lukewarm mood that makes me feel like I'm just floating about, waiting for something to happen and I don't know if it's a good something or bad.
On a more positive note, I feel a LOT better compared to when this all first started on Saturday (I'd still like a proper bowel movement though >.<) and have even started taking a prescribed antibiotic (approved by both doctors too), which added a touch of stress last night when I read the 'warning side effects' (as in the effects where you should immediately call your doctor).
One of the bigger reasons why this all freaked me out is due to family medical history: Grandma passed away because she had colin problems and Momma because of a mysterious renal failure. And now, suddenly, I seem to have an issue with both at the same time? I'm trying to look on the bright side (like Sis, who won't panic unless there's something to panic about) while keeping myself hydrated, like writing down all the creative dreams that I've been getting since this all started (no fever, though I DID feel chilly a couple of nights). Still, I think I'd better start changing my diet...
Every time something like this were to happen, I am reminded of an adage I say to myself to make me feel better:
"This, too, shall pass."
Whether it is good or ill, long or short, Whatever affliction you are currently going through;
This, too, shall pass.
Drinking plenty of fluids and eating a good diet sounds like a good start
Higher fiber (and fewer processed foods) definitely seems like it's in order. Best of luck with both issues.
First off, Happy Birthday! Seems you and I were born in the same year, though several months apart.
Second, sorry for your health issues. I hope that things improve on that front soon.
